Not heavy, gives good definition
2c/3a thin/normal hair here. It’s very good, but I’m comparing it to Garnier Fructis Curl Treat Jelly that was my absolute favorite and was discontinued (whyyy does that always happen?!). The gel leaves a medium/light cast with reasonable hold and definition, does not weigh my hair down or leave residue on it. Im noticing a bit of frizz after 3 days which is normal and my hair still looks good and curls are clumped into ringlets. It’s easy to comb through on wash days, does not feel sticky and washes out easily. Soft clean scent that I don’t notice after applying. I will continue looking for an exact dupe but for now this is working great.

Great Product
Great product for my spiral permed hair. I put this on freshly shampooed, wet hair. Once dry, I scrunch to remove the ‘cast’, and my hair is silky soft, and keeps my hair non frizzy for days.

Excellent hold STRONG fragrance
This has a fantastic hold for my low porosity tight curls while blow dry diffusing. But it a tad too heavy for hair drying.I would give 5 stars and buy this product in bulk if it wasn’t for the extremely strong fragrance, almost like cheap rose perfume. It is strong enough I can’t wear it every day without giving myself a headache. But when I do wear it, my curls diffuse into perfect clumps with ease.

Umberto Giannini Curl Scrunching Jelly
I do have natural curls but sometimes, especially on hot, humid days they don’t hold up as I would like it. A squirt of this ‘scrunching jelly’ rubbed in the wet hair does the trick â sometimes between washing my hair I simply rub the dry hair with wet hands, and the curls hold and don’t get ‘weak’. It is working like a hair fastener but when I brush and comb them they don’t look sticky and feels soft and natural. A tube of this jelly lasts a long time, so it’s worth the money, more than the expensive curl shampoos and conditioners.

Worked a lot better than expected!
I have very thick wavy hair, just past my shoulders. After applying curl cream I used about a quarter sized amount on my sopping wet hair. Air dried in to soft bouncy waves.I was hesitant after reviews about the scent. I have asthma & a very sensitive – it did bother me initially but the scent faded very quickly! I did not notice it at all after my hair dried and my lungs werenât irritated.Some reviewers mentioned the product was crunchy and flaky. I did not have this result. They may have overused.Pros: inexpensive, soft bouncy hair, not sticky, crunchy, or flaky. Controlled frizz surprisingly well. Hair was not weighed down or dirty looking the next day.Cons: initial is overwhelming. Too much fragrance.Would buy again

Excellent product for curly hair at the right price!
I was looking for a more cost effective replacement for the Curlsmith In-Shower Style Fixer that worked just as well. The Curlsmith is great for my 3C curls, but I use a lot of gel and at $28 a tube, it was too much money. This Curl Jelly works fantastic! Really glad I found it. The only negative is that the fragrance is so strong. It does fade, but if they could lighten up on the fragrance, it’d be perfect.

One of my favorites
This is one of my favorite gels, one of my holly grails. It has a lightweight texture, almost liquid but a strong hold. It leaves a cast that is relatively easy to break and I like gels that leave a cast because they secure my curls longer. I have a 2c-3A type of curls and I have to use a gel if I plan to have a day after. This gel smells delicious and it pairs well with all the leave ins and curl creams I use, and this is another very positive point because it doesn’t leave any white residue. It controls frizz very well for at least 48 hours. The only negative point is the size of the tube. It is small and as you can see in the picture it doesn’t come 100% full. I finish one tube in less than a month and I don’t use it every day and I use it in combination with the Ouidad Advance Climate Control and a Leave in. It is actually my third layer for wash and go and it doesn’t last a month so, in my opinion, it is very expensive. Overall excellent gel, it does what it says it does and I will continue to buy it to use it every now and then on those days when I really need my hair on point.

PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT BUY THIS! I am not allergic to anything that I know of, but oh man I have been experiencing so much itchiness in my scalp since I started using this product.This curl jelly leaves white flakes in your hair very bad but ONLY when you REFRESH your hair with it mostly. I would often clarify my hair to remove the white flakes but then I would continue to style with this curl jelly not knowing that this curly gel was the culprit of my misery: even after clarifying my hair, I would still suffer from scalp itchiness and hair fallout.So this time around, I clarified my hair once again but did not style my hair with this curl jelly. Instead, I styled my hair with my tried and true hair gel, and OMG the scalp itchiness and hair fall out was gone for good! A whole week has passed since that wash day, and I have not experienced any itchiness or hair fallout at all.Thatâs when I realized that the curl jelly was the problem since that was the only thing I had changed in my routine.I threw all 3 that I bought in the garbage where they belong! Avoid this product at all cost to avoid the side effects explained in detail above. God bless!

So this was OOS last week and I bought a different product. It took two washes and me looking like Worzel Gummidge to realise it was the GEL. I got my hands on more of this stuff and I’m happy and curly again.Brilliant stuff. Once dry it scrunches out to lovely soft light curls.
