A really good love story
I really like Measha Stone books. Always guaranteed to be a fun read, and she again delivers in Training His Pet. This is the story of Erika, a nosy and somewhat stubborn reporter, and Dax, a dominating, stern ex-military type, who works in security. Needless to say they clash and itâs just so delicious to watch the events unfold.Iâve always enjoyed a quiet Saturday to myself, to slip away and go into a world created by one of my favorite authors, and Ms. Stone is definitely one of my favs. Itâs so nice to go into a book and when you pop up out of it, realize that hours have gone by. The story is that engaging. This is another good one by Measha; highly recommended.

This was a great series. Even if some of these kinks are not my thing, i love reading about them. Measha Stone is one of my favorite authors . Always great plots, storylines, characters n HEAs. Don’t get mad at the author if you dont like the book, as there are trigger warnings.

Hot love story
There was definitely a love story here with Hot ð¥ sex. But I am not Shure I am a fan of the humiliation. Going to a pet store and letting her eat his…. from a bowl for pets was a little bit to much for me. Also the reason Erica got mad at Dex in resort wasn’t believable. other than that I liked the story, I thought there was more room to expand about his brother that got into trouble with the law. But maybe the author left it to another story ð.

Hot but poor representation of BDSM
The action scenes were super hot however, I can’t imagine how upset a sub would be not receiving aftercare after some of these scenes. The lack of communication between Drax and Erika can be explained away by the situation and the genre of the book, however, as an experienced Dom Drax should know better than to treat a new initiate to the scene in such a way. 15 lashings?! Then to bed with no cuddles or aftercare on the skin?! A scene like that would tear skin off and would definitely require first aid aftercare to prevent infections and to provide reassurance to both sub and dom.The primary reason that I’m posting this review is because I worry that some people might read this book and believe that this is the truth of BDSM and pet play.

Oh to be a Pet
This review comes as I finished the sixth book in the series. I am seriously jonesing for a story from the naughty Chris from previous books as well as Corbin from this book. I love Alpha males and the women they tame or as in these books, open their eyes to their seriously submissive side. You will love this series from the beginning of the BDSM resort to the expansion of its playgrounds. Mafia and gangs and the stories. I mourned each books end, thought they couldn’t get better, but they did. More please. Well written and each different around the central theme.

Always after the story
This author just has a knack for putting her characters into situations where they make the deepest connections and then one, or both, makes a decision that causes them to lose it all. This book was so good and then one, seemingly little, action causes the destruction of everything they had built. I was in mourning because I really thought there was no hope for the HEA, but I should have had more faith in the author. Somehow, she managed to pull a HEA out of total destruction. I was never so happy to reach the HEA. I hope this is not the last book we see in this series.

Meashaâs Owned and Protected series is simply one of the best series Iâve read…and this one is no different.While Dax and Erikaâs story started out a bit slower than the others its storyline is just as hot if not more so and I loved that Dax is steadfast in his dominance with Erika and would always listen to others before acting, while Erikaâs curiosity always got the better of her and would always get her in hot kinky trouble.With elements of pet play, spanking and a little bit of humiliation that Ms Stone writes well this is still a hot read and I hope to read more in the series.

Measha Stone sure does know how to write a hot and steamy pet-play book. If you’ve read any others in the series you will know what to expect, and this is another great addition to the series. Whilst some aspects are similar to the rest of the series because – duh! – pet play, each book has it’s own romantic suspense elements, the characters have their own back stories and the issues the couples face make each book very different.I loved how Erika struggled both with both giving her submission AND with how her submission made her feel. The battle of the ‘independent career’ woman with the ‘getting off on kneeling at his feet’ pet. Most of the time Dax appreciated this conflict, and the times he didn’t were necessary to the plot. It was also good to see a dominant hero who wasn’t perfect or had it all together. Whilst the reason they had a blow up was a little cliched, Erika’s reasoning (or lack of) was nicely different from the norm.The ending of the book was pretty perfect for me and then we had the epilogue, which was the cherry on top of the icing! I loved that epilogue and all that it implied, the support, the respect and most of all the love. Honestly it was just totally a *swoon* moment.If you HAVEN’T read any books in this series there are two things to know. The first is that each one is a stand alone, whilst there are certain characters who appear in more than one book no ‘prior knowledge’ is required in order to enjoy this story. The second and probably most important thing is that pet play involves a certain amount of humiliation and, whilst all activities are consensual, it may push your boundaries. I find it helps to remember that (a) both individuals are ultimately willing participants, agreeing to the activities and (b) it’s a book not a BDSM training manual, so some aspects won’t always reflect real life. There is also a (c) which is that whilst I would be saying “Hell no!” to some things Dax insists on I’m not Erika, plus it would be a pretty boring book if she refused to submit to his dominance!So whilst Dax insisted on verbally having Erika’s agreement, there was no chat about a ‘safe word’ and only one mention of ‘hard limits’. That said, I always felt that if Erika had stood up and said ‘actually there is NO WAY I’m going to do that because….’ then Dax would have listened to her and allowed a discussion on the matter. Punishments are another thing, safe words are more for if one feels unsafe or at risk and not for getting out of trouble. These aspects need bearing in mind before buying this book. Otherwise go for it – it’s a great read.
