It Works– Amazingly Well.
I thought I’d try this after extensive research– escalating health problems have been putting weight on for years while creating energy and illness issues that made it impossible to be consistent with good diet and daily exercise. I read all the reviews so I knew to take it with food. Some minor gas/discomfort, but very manageable, and I noticed very quickly that I felt full on very little food. On the second day it was clearly affecting my sleep patterns — I no longer wake multiple times in the night, and am appropriately tired at bedtime. My energy is up and stable, and best of all, my exercise tolerance radically increased– I want to exercise and can now exercise vigorously on long walks (something I have been unable to do for quite a while without pain & exhaustion) and can do a long fast walk and make it up 3plus flights of stairs– I haven’t been able to do that for years without feeling like I would pass out. I am able to eat a very lo cal diet without cravings or hunger, and in one week, my weight is down 4 lbs. Something threw my metabolism off 20 years ago & it escalated into a whole variety of bad issues that looped on each other– this is fixing whatever is at the core of it. I heartily recommend you try it. (I have added a good quality probiotic to it, and take it with yogurt or kefir– the research I read said that improves the positive effects.)

Easy to take – not too big. The formula works very well. These are a great stple in a berberine regime. Take for atleast 60 days to see any effect. They work well at helping to regulate my blood sugar.

I was skeptical about the effectiveness of Berberine. However, after Iâve read multiple randomized controlled studies about the effectiveness of Berberine in management of Diabetes type 2, Iâve decided to order it for my mom. She has been battling DM2 for 30+ years with metformin. Around 2 years ago, she decided to completely change her lifestyle (mind you she is 60 y.o.) and give Ketogenic diet a try. For about a year she was doing great; lost 10 lbs, sugar was somewhat under control w/o metformin, but continuously lingered between 105 – 120 am/pm. So, I started her on Berberine 500 mg, 3 X day. Sheâs been taking 1 cap in am w/breakfast, and 2 caps w/dinner; total 1500 mg/day. She just had her A1C checked 2 days ago and her doctor couldnât believe the results; it went down from 6.2 to 5.2! So, Thorne Berberine works! It did cause mild side effects from taking it, but nothing she canât tolerate (e.g. intermittent nausea which doesnât last long). In addition, she lost a few more pounds of fat and says that she is feeling great. She also had her lipid panel done, so Iâm waiting to review her cholesterol to see if Berberine had impact on her LDL and triglycerides.I canât say if other brands work as well as Thorne b/c she never tried anything else. Iâve been debating which one to order, but Iâve always trusted Thorne and it helped me to narrow my choice. now, itâs on âauto shipâ on Amazon :)P.S. She has whatâs known as Down Phenomenon, which a very common condition among those w/DM2 ; hormonal up regulation of blood sugar throughout the night, that results in higher BG in AM; for that reason she takes 2 caps w/dinner and so far her am BG stays under a 100.Generally her daily BG ranges from upper 80âs – 90âs in AM to 80âs in PM.WARNING: if you are taking ANY prescription medications, especially blood thinners, PLEASE PLEASE talk to your provider before adding Berberine. Although, itâs technically a herbal supplement, it CAN cause potentially DEADLY drug interactions.

Best berberine supplement, hands down. Iâve been using as suggested one capsule 2x/day with meals for a near month now. I already have felt some of the physical effects – using for about a month and sugar âcravingsâ I hadnât realized I had been experiencing just disappeared. No immediate effects on weight loss or anything like that, but the change in my appetite for sweets/processed sugars was quick and noticeable enough to assure me they are working.Some supplements do have a strange taste or smell that causes issue for some people to swallow the pill, but that is not the case here with these herbal extract supplements vs something like the trace minerals which can be difficult to swallow, these are quite easy to ingest. Compare your purchased item with images of the original Thorne packaging to ensure theyâre not fakes⦠higher price supplements attract counterfeiters, and at $40 for a bottle of 60 capsules itâs certainly lucrative for the criminal minded, but personally my experience with ordering this supplement from Amazon in this case was issue-free and Iâm comfortably certain the item I received is genuine Thorne. Capsules are large but not HUGE, and have a distinctive yellow mustard ish hue. Mine came with 2 anti-moisture silicone packets inside the original manufacturer bottle. Hope this helps anyone unsure of the productâs origins. I definitely endorse this Thorne product.
