Responsive, accurate, easy to use.
This is an accurate fast responding thermometer probe. I use it all the time. Changes angle easily, turns off when closed or when left untouched, and feels comfortable to use. Display is very good.

Best one out there.
Donât waste your money on other manufacturers. Youâll be disappointed. As a Pitmaster I can tell you that anything you need in the way of digital thermometers, go with ThermPro. Might be a couple of bucks more, but you will see itâs well worth your while.Durable build, easy to read, and comes calibrated out of the box. This model also allows you to calibrate the thermometer when it gets older.

Cool tool!
My first cooking thermometer! This is working out pretty good so far! Cooking various fish and meats and checking the temp with this TP19 is easy-peasy! It’s pretty fast for a thermometer….I’m impressed- for this price point. Sometimes I wish it had an on/off switch instead of having to fold the probe closed, but no big deal. Love the built in magnet for sticking it on something metal. Big easy to read display which flips depending on the held orientation. Good brand name, pretty darn good thermometer!

Great Budget Alternative To Thermapen! Highly Recommend.
Long story short, I wanted a Thermoworks Thermapen MK4 but didnât want to spend $100+, so i settled and ordered a Lavatools Javelin Pro which turned out to be JUNK. I was going to cave in and order a Thermpen and be done, but saw they released this as a knock off and ordered one…Then Thermpen went on sale and I ordered one of those. So here i am with three nice instant read thermometers. Maybe i can help someone make a decision. The TP-19 seems to be pretty well made, about on par with the Javelin Pro. It is not as high quality as the Thermapen, but it also costs a 1/4 as much. The TP-19 feels lighter and the plastic feels a bit cheaper than the Thermapen. For example, the battery cover screws into plastic, where as the thermapen battery cover screws into a metal nut. The battery cover on the Javelin Pro just uses something like a quarter to turn it and does not inspire much confidence (once again, terrible waterproofing). AAA batteries (Yes!) in the Thermapen and TP-19 and 2032 coin battery in the javelin (gross). It opens up and closes easily, and turns on and off as you do so. As for the speed differences between the three units, I can not really tell any difference. All three are very quick and all three seem to be about the same on accuracy (Iâm an amateur so they are plenty accurate for me). The displays are all pretty easy to read. The T-19 has a bright red LCD display, kind of like an old alrm clock. The other two use backlit LCD screens, with the Thermapen being automatic and the Javelin having to be turned on. The Javelin and TP-19 rotate 2 directions (up or down), while the Thermapen can rotate 4 directions. The accelerometer in the TP-19 is a bit more jumpy. As you move it around the screen cant always decide which direction it wants to face, which is not a big problem, but something i noticed when testing it. The Javelin and TP-19 have magnets built in which allow you to stick them to a fridge or other metalic areas, but the thermapen does not. Thermapen and TP-19 claim to be fully IP-67 waterproof, where as the Javelin is just water resistant (debatable). If you want a fast handheld thermometer, i think the Thermo Pro TP-19 is a great option. If you you want to spend a bit more on the Thermapen for a better quality unit that has a great company behind it, its a great option too. Thermoworks is THE name in thermometers and are used in many professional kitchens around the world for a reason. My only real advice is to skip the Lavatools Javelin Pro. At $50+ it offers up nothing to the table. Their customer service is useless and the unit has no waterproofing, which to me is important for a kitchen thermometer.

Large display Very Accurate Readings
My old digital thermometer finally died so I bought this model. It works very well and the dispaly is much brighter than my old unit. I have used it several times for roasts, turkey and chicken and they all came out perfectly. It turn off as soon as you fold in the probe and gets a reading very quickly. It is also solid in your hand so when you stick it into a thick roast you don’t feel like it’s going to break. Good value for a quality product.

I’ve been using the ThermoPro TP19 for several months now, and it’s become an indispensable tool in my kitchen and for outdoor grilling. The instant-read feature provides accurate temperature readings in just a few seconds, which is crucial for ensuring meats are cooked to perfection. The waterproof design is a significant advantage, allowing for easy cleaning under running water without any concerns. The ambidextrous backlit display is bright and rotates automatically, making it easy to read from any angle, even in low-light conditions. The thermometer’s build quality feels solid, and the foldable probe makes it convenient to store. The magnetic back is a thoughtful addition, letting me stick it to the fridge or grill for quick access.Pros:Fast and accurate readingsWaterproof and easy to cleanBright, rotating display suitable for both left and right-handed usersMagnetic back for convenient storageCons:Doesn’t come with a protective caseOverall, the ThermoPro TP19 offers excellent value for its price point. It’s a reliable, user-friendly thermometer that enhances the cooking experience, whether you’re a home cook or a grilling enthusiast.

I was originally considering buying the much touted but quite expensive ThermaPen MK4 instead, but I decided to take a chance on this less expensive ThermoPro. Both use “thermocouple” technology for measuring temperature (as opposed to thermistor technology), which can produce faster read times and allow for the temperature sensor to be positioned further into the tip of the probe. I especially liked the idea of the sensor being in the tip of the probe, and having the speed and accuracy to be able to read temperature gradients at each layer and area within the food.In any event, the technology details are irrelevant unless it’s designed and assembled properly. And I have not been disappointed thus far. The ThermoPro TP19 seems to be able to read the various temperature gradients and seems more than adequate for the purposes of general kitchen use.Read times are usually within a few seconds and after testing the calibration with a specially prepared ice bath (using an insulated container filled at least 70% full with ice and topped up and stirred with cold water and then taking the temperature after letting it sit 10 mins and looking for 0.0 Celsius reading), I also have confidence in the temperature readings. There was some fluctuation when I was taking the ice bath temperature, which amounted to + or – about half a degree celsius depending on where I measured, how long the ice bath had been sitting, and how well stirred the water was , but even if it was out a full degree or two, that is more than enough accuracy for my purposes. The more important factor is speed for me, and the ThermoPro is also adequate on that front. Yes, the ThermaPen MK4 might be faster to give readings (and while I have not tested both side-by-side comparing read times, others online have), but it’s also more than double the price (and perhaps 3x the price, especially for Canadians with USD-CAD exchange, shipping, duties, etc).Overall, I think this is good value and will suit most people.
