Built to last? l
I purchased this thermometer just shy of two and a half years ago and have replaced it with a superior model from the same company.I have been pleased with the form, function and accuracy of this model and EXPECTED to continue using it for many years yet.HOWEVER, I was checking the temperature of a slow cooker pot roast, went to wipe the probe clean and it came free from the handle exposing about and inch of VERY thin wire. No way to feed it back in and secure the probe.I’m hoping for better durability ( but at least equal accuracy ) from the newer ( significantly more expensive ) model.

High quality and temp accuracy and looks and feels classy
I am probably a bit embarrassed at how much time I spent on the internet researching which replacement cooking thermometer after the good one we had for a decade, unfortunately finally gave up the ghost during our Christmas holiday cooking season. I settled on this one based on its posted specifications and customer reviews. It is slightly larger than our former cooking thermometer, but this is probably so in order to accommodate its nice, large temperature display which is a welcome upgrade to our old, formerly reliable thermometer. You can take the temperature with the probe bent which was handy the other day while reaching through the oven shelves, and the function is very intuitive – just hold in the power button to turn it off, though it states in the owners manual that it will shut off by itself after a reasonable period if you forget to push & hold the power button. Finally, it looks classy and the red LED characters stand out nicely in our bright kitchen lights.

Great thermometer, be careful when cleaning
Works great, fast and accurate, magnets are helpful. Use care when cleaning the probe, I was drying mine after cleaning and must have gripped it just a little too much with the towel and the probe pulled out from the body of the thermometer. Otherwise no complaints after 3 years of frequent use, I just ordered a replacement.
