Works
Any time that I go outside for more than a few minutes, I like to wear sunscreen. My skin is aging, so it’s important for me to protect it from harmful rays. This is why I was interested in this The Ordinary UV Filters SPF 45 Serum. The serum was well-sealed. There wasn’t any leakage. There was no residue on the bottle. The pump functioned well. There was no discoloration in the serum. It does have a sunscreen-like scent.Applying it was easy. I tend to dab it all over my face then smooth it out. It goes on well without dragging or pulling the skin. It’s a little tacky after, so I let it air dry before putting anything else on my face. There is no white cast. My makeup goes on fine, but there are times when I notice my foundation not laying well on my face with the sunscreen on first. If I do any perspiring, not even heavy sweating, it all comes off my face. It comes off more easily than other non-waterproof serums that I’ve used. If I’m wearing makeup it will take a lot of it off with it. When I’m not using this sunscreen serum, I don’t have this issue. I have also had some random blemishes appear. Fortunately the serum does wash off my face well.Overall, it is fine. I think it works best for me if I use it around the house and short outings in the yard. This way I don’t have to wear makeup nor worry about it sweating off my face. I can just reapply. Compared to other sunscreen serums that I’ve gotten I think the value is reasonable.

Love it
Love this, as with most Ordinary products. Reminds me of Sundown brand sunscreen from the late 70s.

Smoothing serum with superb sun protection
The Ordinary UV Filters SPF 45 Serum is everything you want in a facial serum. It is lightweight, lightly-scented, gentle, and leaves skin feeling incredibly smooth. It layers really well under cosmetics, leaving no white cast like many sunscreens tend to do. Other brands make me look like casper the ghost due to the white cast on my extremely fair skin, but not this serum! Other brands have also left my skin feeling tacky and this serum feels more like it improves my skin than leaving a film behind. The serum will work for any skin tone and is a must for protecting skin from UV rays. So far as sun protection goes, this does an excellent job. I have used it repeatedly before sun exposure (even on the lake) and have yet to burn, though I am careful to note when it’s appropriate to reapply. It has not caused any redness or irritation to my sensitive skin. This formula is truly excellent and I can see now why it is so highly recommended. I think this sunscreen is an excellent value and would recommend to anyone.

The Ordinary UV Filters SPF 45 Serum
I have never tried a sunscreen quite like this, but I don’t dislike it! It smells faintly sunscreeny but is otherwise unscented. The texture is thin like a serum, not a lotion like a regular sunscreen. It is milky white but did not leave a white cast, however I am quite pale so it may perform differently for those who are more melanated. With cream sunscreens I follow the three finger rule to be sure I am using enough product, but with this it is a little difficult to know exactly how much is needed to get the listed sun protection factor. I went with 4 pumps, and it seems to go on better as the first product after cleansing. It absorbed quickly when putting it on clean, bare skin, but I felt like it was a little greasier when I put it over my other skincare products. It did eventually dry down and was fine to put makeup over. Since it is not waterproof it is not a good choice for swimming or getting sweaty, so other sun protection measures will definitely be needed for a hot southern summer.Overall, it seems like a good product from a known and trusted brand. At $19.99 for 60 mls of SPF 45 it isn’t outrageously priced. I don’t think it will be a reorder for me because I do have other traditional face sunscreens and tinted sunscreens that I like more, but as a super pale person in a hot sunny climate I need all the SPF I can get, so I’ll definitely use up this bottle.

Amazing! No white cast!
Love this Ordinary sunscreen! The biggest benefit for the sunscreen is that it goes on quite light which is beneficial. If you have makeup on and more importantly for me is that it doesn’t create a white cast. With some types of sunscreens you get a white or gray type of color that applies your face. If you have darker skin. That’s what the white cast is.With this particular sunscreen, I did not seem to have that problem with it.I had to apply the sunscreen twice during the few hours that I was out today. I was sweating quite a bit but I didn’t notice that my skin felt that it was sunscreenless which is definitely a plus. But, to be on the safe side, I reapplied sunscreen after a couple hours anyway. In terms of value for the money, I think that you may want to wait for a sale. It’s decent right now, but I think the quantity could be provided is a little bit more. However, I know that this is a great brand and I’ve used many of their products before. I still think that it’s worth waiting for a sale, or if you’re having trouble finding sunscreen that doesn’t give a white cast, then this is the way to go.
