Favorite curl gel
This is the only gel that works with my coily curls – great hold but never “crunchy”. A little bit goes a long way and it never feels stiff. It smells great and lasts a long time! It’s becoming more difficult to find but glad they had it available here.

Great for my low porosity hair
I like that it’s made from great ingredients. I was looking for something that had a humectant (e.g., honey) and a mixture to moisturize my hair. I did initially smell the ginger scent. For me, it was practically gone after 30 minutes. The only way to smell it then was to put the hair right up against my nose, and I could barely smell it. The smell was initially strong in that I think I could smell it about an arm’s reach away. I used a lot of the product because I have a lot of hair. I also did not mind the smell, but I’m not ginger adverse.This significantly helped moisturize my hair. It even lasted into the next day, and my hair (like always) had very low porosity.On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being none and 10 being supreme, the hold is about a 5 (moderated by the amount). It works much better than other similar products I’ve used. I think the only two products to do better are an AXE hair paste (9; leaves hair hard), and a Jamaican Castor Oil Strong Hold Gel by Shea Moisture (variable but usually 6). If you look at those products, the contents practically resist movement inside the container when shaking (lol).Overall, this product is very good. Left my hair feeling soft and shiny, and a hold just good enough to allow touching without moving in a light breeze. I will it buy again.

This gel is definitely not my holy grail. The scent was a little off for me, kinda strong and not in a good way. Texture-wise, it left my curls crunchy and heavy, like they were wearing a weighted blanket they didnât ask for.I found it a bit drying too, which is a no-go when your curls are already thirsty for moisture. That said, I wouldnât totally toss it. In a pinch; like if Iâm out of my regular go-toâI can make it work by mixing it with a curl cream or a little conditioner to soften the crunch and bring back some hydration.Not a complete fail, but definitely not a repurchase.

I used this product to do a natural 4c wash and go. I washed and deep conditioned my hair, then used this product on its own, no leave-in conditioner, and on soaking wet hair.It had lots of slip. I combed it through so it covered each strand of hair, and by Jove my hair is defined to the heavens with a strong hold. Yes it has a cast, but this is what keeps the definition for days. The smell is amazing and smells clean and of ginger.I am on day 3 hair now and my hair is still holding to the heavens. I don’t re-wet my hair in the mornings as it causes frizz, but let the steam from the show rehydrate my hair.It is an amazing natural hair gel that can be used on its own or with a leave-in. Choice is yours.Definitely worth every penny.
