Very sharp drill bit!
I received it and used it on my nails. I liked it because it really removed the gel polish but, be very careful with it. Itâs very sharp. I did knick my cuticle with it while using it on my personal nails. Use a slow setting if using on yourself. Hard to use on my less dominant hand. Easy to use on other people. I would recommend it and purchase it again. Gave it all 5 stars because it really does remove the gel. These tools can injure and should be dealt with carefully!

as a beginner nail tech i did my research and needed a 5in1 fine bit to seal the cuticles. i LOVE all of melody susie products! i have an efile and their uv lamp as well. the bit works so good and it perfectly for sealing the cuticles and it’s pink which i love, if i need a new one i will definitely repurchase

The daughter has been using this MelodySusie XC Course Drill Head for a few weeks now, and we can confidently say it’s the best investment we have made for her nail care routine. If you’re tired of struggling with those flimsy course sanding bands that come with most nail drills, this drill head is a must-have, and a major upgrade.The XC Course Drill Head is incredibly durable and efficient, it’s designed to tackle even the toughest gel manicures, removing them quickly and easily without damaging your nails, the carbide head is tough enough to cut through Acrylic or thick layers of gel polish, but it’s also gentle enough to avoid causing any pain or discomfort.The daughter has tried several other drill heads and sanding pads, but none have come close to the performance of this one, the ‘XC Course Drill Head’ is a must-have for anyone who does their own gel nails at home, especially when you consider the daughter is being charged £12 for Gel removal at the salon, it’s a worthwhile investment that will save you time, money, and frustration in the long run.

Or rather, I had not expected to receive only the one bit. Perhaps itâs my bad, and I should have read the blurb more closely, especially as the bit I got was coarse, which does not really suit my needs (I freely admit nails are not my thing, but resin modelling is). But the bit is extremely well-made and the claims in the blurb are well-founded. The other thing, though, is that this comes in an annoying box that does not really lend itself to useful storage (it doesnât protect the bit, either, as the bit was rattling around in the box instead of being secured in the lid as was intended).

I use nail dip powder at home for my nails and found that removing the bulk before soaking makes removal so much better. I found this bit to b very different from the standard ones that came with my drill. The texture in the ceramic does an amazing job on the hard nail dip powder layers. It removes it much faster than my standard bit as you can see in the end of the video. If anything you need to watch out not to use too much pressure as it can take a bit of a chunk out of you do. But overall really like the textured ceramic tip compared to my diamond style tips, so this has been my go-to now for removing my dip powder.

When I ordered the MelodySuise Ceramic Tapered Barrel Nail Drill Bits on 10/08/2024 and read the product description, it very clearly said “bits” which is plural so I was expecting an actual set of bits and was therefore somewhat disappointed to get one singular drill bit.The product images and the label on the packaging also say “bits” and the product images show a range of bits so I could see there being some confusion similar to mine if a customer were to base their purchase on the use of the plural within the product description and from the product images. It’d be great if the product information/images could be a lot clearer about the fact this listing and price is for one, singular drill bit.That said, MelodySusie is a good brand when it comes to nail supplies, I already have a MeldoySusie nail drill which came with a set of bits and this XC (Extra Coarse) works perfectly with the MelodySusie drill I have as well as with a smaller USB handheld e-file that I own.The XC Ceramic Bit is fantastic for removing gel polish, dip powder and acrylics and although I haven’t tested it with PolyGel, I think it’d work fine for removing that as well.The XC needs a bit more care and control when using it for removal as it can drift if you’re not using a tight grip on your drill so I’d recommend starting at a lower speed than normal and fine tuning your way up to get the hang of the bit. I’d also recommend being very careful around the edges and avoiding the direct cuticle area to avoid touching skin.There are a lot of drill bit sets available here which might be tempting as you’d get an entire set for the same price as this single drill bit but, having tried out some of those sets, it’s worth paying the extra money for a good quality bit that will last and will do the job.At the time of writing this review on 13/08/2024 the current price is £9.99 which isn’t too bad for a ceramic bit of this quality but I’d be a lot happier recommending it if the product information and images made it very clear that you get one (singular) bit.
