It’s all I need, and possibly a bit more
I’m a complete beginner at using an eFile, but I didn’t want to get a cheap beginner unit which could perform badly, die soon, or which would be too limiting as I learned how to use it, so I did a lot of research. I kept coming back to this unit, and finally decided that it had all I needed now, and then some. I was impressed that many of the reviewers on YouTube mentioned having older versions of this nail drill which were still performing well. I also like how compact it is, and love that it’s rechargeable with a USB-C cable, since I’m often mystified by which proprietary cable goes with what. It also has drill bits which appear to be of the types which I see YouTubers actually using on nails and cuticles.It performs extremely well, and the only issue I’ve found is that the directions state that you need to rotate the (groved), middle section of the barrel until you hear a click in order to remove the bits. However, the chucks were not opening. Even my husband couldn’t get it. Eventually, I discovered that you have to rotate it until you hear (and feel) TWO clicks. Once that difficulty was surmounted, it was easy sailing.I’m finally able to clean up the part of my cuticles which cling to the nail plate, as well as smooth out the sorry looking job I do of trimming them; and for the first time in my life, I’ve been able to trim back the hyponychium which overgrows, and looks unsightly. I may not be able to apply polish perfectly, but at least I’m finally getting the basics of a manicure right. I’m extremely happy with how easy this is to handle. As a complete beginner, I’m starting out with speed 1 (of 30), and going quite slowly, so I learn how to handle the device correctly, and am not creating any damage, as well as getting good results; and I expect this to continue to work like a dream when I know what I’m doing.Thank you for reading my review. Good but doesn’t hold battery long
This drill is pretty good and very slim so it doesn’t feel too bulky in your hands. It has good drill speed and I like the pause feature it has on it. My only problem is that it had started to not hold charge after a few uses. Sometimes after just doing one to two sets of nails it will die and it’s kinda annoying. I’m not sure if it’s just mine and maybe I got a defective one bc I haven’t really seen anyone els complain about this, but that would be my only problem about the drill. It’s a good drill besides the battery issues I’m having. It charges quick and isn’t noisy.

Cheap junk
I bought this is October. It has never worked well since I got it. It only holds a charge for approx 30 minutes. It changes direction with me not doing anything, this is dangerous. I’ve used this item 5-7 times only. It doesn’t work at all now, will not charge, will not power on. I reached out to the seller in April 2025 and they demand a video of the item not working. Of the item not working. There are better brands on amazon to buy. I will never buy Melodysusie again. Cheap junk

Easy and convenient
I do my own gel X nails at home and this is perfect for someone like me who is just doing nails on occasion as a hobby. I love that it’s wireless and the mechanism for increasing the speed and changing direction is really intuitive to learn. I previously had a cheaper melody Susie e-file and it didn’t have a way to lock in the drill bits which worried me. But that’s not an issue with this one, as the e-file has a “click” when it’s locked in. This is the best quality nail drill while still being super affordable.

This nail file is a great buy, or so I thought, almost everything about it is great except for the battery life. It charges fast, and lasts for my whole mani/pedi, but whatever charge is left over from that is drained when it sits without use. So each time I need to use, it needs to be charged, which is very frustrating and a huge inconvenience.

Professional nail tech opinion here! I just got this drill and it is honestly fantastic! Not heavy, comfortable in your hand, well balanced, quiet, and works beautifully. I have been working with a Medicool Pro 30k my whole nail career and its a great drill but bulky and I only do my own nails these days, so wanted something easier.I was skeptical if this drill based on some of the reviews but it is honestly fantastic!For those saying the drill is “too fast” or “too high powered”, no shade but these people are not using it correctly. You should never ever be pushing down on the drill – you will damage your nail plate every time and cause heat spikes. You should be letting the efile do the work for you and always use a gentle hand. I just did a hard gel removal on my toes, including cuticle work, and this drill worked perfectly.My only criticism would be the lowest setting is a bit tooo low and skips, so it’s not the most ideal for using an arbour band but tbh arbour bands aren’t really necessary anyway for prepping the nail plate. (just gently use a medium – fine hand file for etching).Get this drill. You won’t regret it! (and take a quick course on how to properly use an e file if they are new to you. You will be glad you did!)

I have been doing lots of review about it before purchasing. Some Amazon reviews said the battery died/unable to turn on after couple uses, but so far it has been working well for me!! I guess that’s more like a random issue (if you are unlucky get a malfunction one). But apparently that issue happened in other brands too.It’s light weight, cordless, 3 levels of speed. even the lowest one is powerful for me lol but I saw some reviews said the lowest level has no power. It happens if the battery almost gone but once charge it’s quiet good.Highly recommend to people do their nails at home!!
