Good Little Kit, Not a True Trauma Kit, Pricey
I like to carry a first aid kit in my vehicles, camper and my BOB. I thought that this small kit would add depth to my first aid readiness by adding some true trauma items. While this is an okay first aid kit, it falls short in the trauma arena and that is the reason for deducting stars.First, this is a nice bag. It fits on my backpack strap and would fit on my belt. It is small enough to stash in my vehicle console and in my camper. It has an OK array of bandaids without having too many. The scissors are surprisingly sharp and actually cut gauze and bandage material as well as medical tape. The pen is good for marking time bandages were changed, making notes on bandages, skin or paper and the little whistle is actually pretty loud. The ABD pad is a good trauma addition, but more would be needed. There are some gauze, some pads, some sterile pads and a triangular bandage for use as a sling or large bandage along with some small iodine pads rather than the alcohol pads pictured in the listing. The listing says there is a tourniquet, but the picture in the listing shows an Israeli Bandage tourniquet. However, the kit that I received has a vacuum sealed Emergency Bandage. It has directions on the package that make it appear to be the Israeli Bandage that can act as a pressure bandage or tourniquet. I didn’t actually open it because I didn’t want to break the sterile seal, but I included a photo of the back of the bandage package instructions so you can determine that for yourself. There is no blood stop clotting powder or sutures which I would have expected in a trauma kit at minimum. There are two tiny rolls of tape which are pretty useless for making bandages or holding gauze so I am replacing those with an actual roll of medical tape which takes up about the same amount of space but is much better. It also has a small roll of 1″ coban type wrap. It’s helpful but a larger roll would be better. There is only 1 pair of gloves which is not enough and I will be adding more. There is a small pocket under the red cross in the front of the kit which is empty. This would be a good place to keep a Leatherman or additional bandaids.Overall, this is a nice, small bag filled with some good first aid supplies, but does not rise to the level of a trauma kit and I find the current pricing of $37.99 to be pricey given what it misses. This kit was made in China.

Compact, Well-Stocked, and Perfect for the Car And camping
I got this to keep in my car since weâve been camping a lot more, and being prepared is really important to me. I already have a standard first aid kit, but Iâve been adding extra pieces to make it more comprehensive, and this trauma kit is a great expansion. Itâs well-organized, has all the essentials for severe bleeding control, and is compact enough to store by my spare tire without taking up much space. The quality feels solid, and I like that I still have room to add any extras I want, excellent for the price. Definitely a smart addition for peace of mind on the road and at camp.

Good baseline
With any ready-made medical kit, I will always recommend some personalization but it is helpful to start with a good baseline. The gear included in this kit is good and does provide a solid baseline and even if you choose not to make any additions, you’ll be in pretty good shape. As a pre-made trauma kit, this gives a really good value with practical components while avoiding a lot of the cheap filler stuff used in so many kits. The shears are acceptable but nothing special – I have replaced those with upgraded versions, but that is another element of personal preference; the shear included are functional. The storage bag is well-made, but the exterior pocket is an issue for me. In the pictures, they show a TQ in the pocket, however, I don’t have a single TQ that actually fits correctly in that pocket. It gets very narrow at the bottom and does not allow the TQ to fully seat without greatly reducing the amount of hook and loop used to keep the top retention strap in place. That was a poor design choice. Speaking of TQ’s, I appreciate the inclusion of a marker for writing time stamps on a TQ – but add a few bucks to the price of this kit and include a TQ! I understand that TQ choice is often personal, but including one, even if it ends up just being used for training, would be a great value-add.Overall, I think this is a good system at a good price. I’ll be using this as a supplement to the IFAK/trauma kit I keep in the truck.

Falls short of claims
This is a pretty good first aid kit, with a few missing things. First, as others have noted, there is not a tourniquet in this kit. Now, there are several pictures on the product page that show a tourniquet in the little pouch on the outside of the main compartment. It bugs me when there are misleading pictures like that.I do like the size of the kit, though. Lot’s of small kits on the commercial market are much larger, but they fill that extra space with about 1000 bandaids. This has a reasonable amount in convenient sizes and configurations. But bandaids aren’t what come to mind when I hear “trauma kit.” This is a small first aid kit with a couple of extras. But without quick-clot and a tourniquet, this doesn’t deserve to be labeled as for “severe bleeding control.” The big old abdominal pad is nice, you’ll need more than that for real trauma.
