An eye look for every reader, another must read from beauty expert, Bobbi Brown.
I have read everything Bobbi Brown has written and keep her books close buy on my bookshelf, to re read again and again. This book is just an extension of her beauty concept of being petty and powerful. Teaches eye makeup technique to looking pretty. There are so many makeovers, that anyone can find a eye look that works for them. Not a fashion shoot look. A daily look, polished and current. I think anything she writes is worth at least one read, or more.I got this book as a kindle sample book. And subsequently bought the book. The screen resolution on my kindle is better than the actual book., Who would have thunk it.

Kind of just the basics
It had some good ideas for how to apply products to avoid problems. It is a super short book, but helpful if you already know what style of eye makeup you want to wear. It’s mostly about how to get the makeup on so it looks good.

This book does have good advice. The information on how to select frames was great. I was hoping for more suggestions for how to compensate for the optics of glasses.

Interesting read, but no details or specifics for the products used in the photos or tutorials. Great to have tutorials, but even better to know the products especially when one would presume they are from her namesake make-up company!

Great Gift Idea for Teen Daughter/Niece
I think this book would be a great little gift for a daughter or niece. I stumbled upon this book on Kindle Unlimited and was very happy with the content. Itâs very appropriate for a beginner or a young lady.

With the exception of choosing eyeglass frames, no new information if you own other Bobbi Brown books
Not much new here if you have Bobbi Brown’s other books. I was hoping that it would have more advice on making up older eyes, but it didn’t. The only new information was on choosing eyeglass frames for your face shape, but it didn’t even include my rather common face shape (rectangle or oblong)! For me this book was worthless, but others may get something out of this if they don’t own other Bobbi Brown books or if they have a different shaped face.

Good book on eyes
I’m a makeup artist and am always looking for good books to advance my skills or to just get a refresher. I really enjoyed this book and how it broke down certain things like eye shapes, colors and even the best ingredients for specific eye concerns. Some of the looks were great but there was also a good amount of them that I didn’t care for our see my clients caring for. It also had quite a large section on eye looks for glasses which I don’t see in a lot of books like this. Overall it was a great addition to my collection.

Amazing
She was very precise and to the point as all her books are. It goes into detail about the does and don’t of eye care and makeup. I think a nice added perk was she talked about how you can change up your look with glasses and how you can enhance you’re Beauty with them. What I like best is and this includes all her book she talks about you’re skin care before she elaborates on applying makeup. And that’s more important than anything.

Although I have been a huge fan of Bobbi’s for more than a decade, I am quite disappointed by this book.The content is divided into three parts: “Basics”, “Get the look” and “hey four eyes” (aka glasses). The basics are of interest only to absolute beginners as they are quite, well basic and sketchy. The looks of the second part are presented by 12 models of whom 10 are brown-eyed with mostly dark hair/complexion, wearing thick black eyeliner. As there are no comments whatsoever (!) on technique / products used, adapting the looks to a different colouring is quite challenging even for the more experienced. The third part on eyewear is easily summarized: in the end everyone looks like Bobbi. There are hardly any recommendations, apart from the “nerdy glasses” Bobbi prefers. They are hip, but do not neccessarily look good on everybody, but metal frames or frameless glasses are nowhere to be found in this book. Needless to say: there are no instructions as to how to put on make-up, too, just a lot of pictures with already made-up women.This is a nice book for die-hard Bobbi fans and – with reservations – brown-eyed, bespectacled absolute newcomers******************************************************************************************************************************Obwohl ich seit Jahrzehnten ein groÃer Fan von Bobbi Brown bin, war ich von diesem Buch doch etwas enttäuscht.Der Inhalt gliedert sich in drei Teile “Basics”, “Get the look” und “Brillen”. Die Basics sind nur für totale Anfänger interessant, da sowohl inhaltlich als auch erklärungstechnisch sehr rudimentär. Die Looks im zweiten Teil werden von 12 Models präsentiert, von denen 10 braune Augen und meistens dunkle Haare/Haut haben und zumeist dicke schwarze Lidstriche tragen. Da jeglicher Kommentar zur Technik und den verwendeten Farben fehlt, ist selbst Geübten unklar, wie die Looks für andere Farbstellungen adaptiert werden können. Der dritte Teil (Brillen) ist wiederum sehr einfach zusammengefasst: am Ende sehen alle aus wie Bobbi. Der GroÃteil der vorgestellten Brillenfassungen entspricht der von Frau Brown selbst favorisierten “Streberbrille”. Die ist zwar gerade hip, steht aber wirklich nicht jeder – und Metall- oder gar randlose Brillen werden im Buch überhaupt nicht abgebildet. Zu den Brillen-Make-ups gibt es wiederum keinerlei Anleitung, nur viele Bilder von bereits geschminkten Frauen.Fazit: ein toll layoutetes Bilderbuch für totale Bobbi-Fans und (braunäugige, streberbrillentragende;) Anfänger
