Nicely portable BP monitor
This portable wrist cuff is great for use on the go. If you need to monitor your stats while you are traveling for business or on vacation, this unit is a good choice.Operation is pretty simple, and you can set up to 3 users on the device, so you dont need to worry about your stats getting thrown off if someone else uses it.It takes 2 AAA batteries instead of being rechargeable, so that’s a bit of a letdown in the current age of rechargeable devices.I dont know if there is a way to calibrate the accuracy other than to go to a doctor’s office and verify if it’s accurate. Make sure you read the instructions for correct positioning to get a good reading.

Inaccurate
This wrist blood pressure monitor has been very disappointing. Half the time I canât even get it to take my blood pressure correctly. It starts, gets about half way to counting down, then stops to inflate the cuff some more. I thought maybe itâs because my wrists are kinda small, so I measured the diameter, and my wrists fall within the acceptable range listed in the instructions. Still others with larger wrists did not have this issue.Regardless of the wrist issue, It seems to always measure high. My blood pressure, based on measurements at my doctorâs office (just last week actually), and my momâs full size, very expensive and very accurate BP monitor, always show around 110/60 for me. Yet this one shows between 130-140/80-90. Not even close. And itâs not just me, Iâve had my boyfriend, my niece, my mom all try it and without fail it measures 20-30 higher.While wrist BP monitors generally arenât as accurate as those upper arm BP monitors, and I was prepared for some inaccuracy, I did not expect it to be quite this inaccurate.Perhaps it can be used to follow trends over time, and thatâs the only reason Iâll give it 2 stars instead of just one.

Let’s be clear – it is my opinion the best option is the manual blood pressure cuff and sphygmomanometer, taken my a licensed professional.In the absence of that, most of the at home digital blood pressure devices are a good supplement to give an individual an idea if there’s an issue with their blood pressure. These devices are not going to be as reliable as the blood pressure taken by a professional. These devices should likely not be used in a life threatening event/ episode.Now that we’re clear about that, this device is decent:Pros:1. Simple to use2. Large, legible numbers3. Reasonably accurateCons:1. The wrist cuff size is limited and could affect results if a person has a larger wrist, or the wrist area is shorter, or too small.2. Results can likely be affected by user error – sweaty wrists, device placement, etc.Taking the pro’s and con’s into affect, it’s OK. But get checked by a professional if there are health concerns about the blood pressure.
