THE BEST NAIL TRIMMING SOLUTION, PERIOD.
I expected a cheap peace of junk made in China and what I received is probably one of the best consumer products I have ever purchased. This thing is a miracle. I had historically used a Dremel on my Golden Retrievers. They didn’t like it, but they complied.Our one-year old Lab took to this trimmer with no problem at all. His nails are so short that they make no contact with the ground. Everyone comments on them – vet, groomer, trainer. It’s a remarkable product. It’s relatively quiet and, if you do it right, the light shines right through the nail so you can see the quick. Ours is a Red Fox Lab, so your success with seeing through nails on a darker/black dog may vary.The trick is to lay the dog on its back with its head in your lap. Not all dogs will do this so you may need a little help from someone to feed some treats as a distraction. Mine didn’t need any of it. Just take a little off every couple of days, avoid the quick and your dog will have perfect nails. No floor scratching and no car seat scratching.If your dog is apprehensive, just hold it in your lap while sitting on the floor and give it some rubs and treats will turning the trimmer on low. Don’t actually trim our dogs nails until it’s comfortable with the device. When you do trim for the first time, just gently hit one nail and call it a day. Do it again later and use treats. Keep doing that and, in a few days, you’ll have a great trimmer solution.I would very much caution you not to get aggressive with this trimmer. It can be tempting to go crazy and take them all the way down, and some dogs may allow this, but it WILL hurt if you hit the quick, even though there won’t be blood.I would also recommend trimming the top part of the nail and letting the concrete wear down the under-side of the nail naturally. If you don’t walk your dog enough for that, just carefully file the entire nail a little bit at a time. Doing this every few days keeps the drama to a minimum and will keep your dog’s quick moving backward. Just remember to take the smallest amount off if you can’t see the quick. Less than a millimeter.I’m going to buy another one just so I have it when the one I have fails. It’s that good.Note on pictures: This is a very active dog. He hikes mountains and walks 4-6 miles per day. His nails look rough because he spends a lot of time on rough terrain. You could file your dog’s nails with a nail file if you want them smooth. I’m going for short.

Good, but one thing I would change
Quiet, easy to use. Love the lights on it. Only thing I don’t like is not being able to adjust the speed with one hand. I found that I had to let go of my dog’s paw to adjust the speed then had to try getting it back from her. Would be better if it could be done with the same hand holding the grinder.

Better than clippers
Low noise, near silent. Sure beats using clippers & my dog is a lot more relaxed with me using this to trim her nails. Works well, easy to use and the illumination is a great aid.

Using it will change your mind
Wow! Great find! Quiet and powerful. I use speed 1 on our small dog and speed 6 on our medium dog. I changed the 80 grit stone wheel to a 40 grit stone wheel and what a difference it makes!!! Grinds their nails in a fraction of the time. I suggest wearing a nose mask to keep from breathing the nail dust. Both dogs appreciate the quick action without stress. Easy to use, and the bright lights illuminate their nails perfectly! Comfortable to hold in your hand. I use with the nail guard in place. Small Bichon nails use speed 1 and the side port on guard. Medium Cavachon nails, I use the end opening on the guard. Fantastic design.

Great product, I have no issues with trimming my dogs nails and heâs 82 pounds with thick nails. I used setting 2 and it worked fine. Highly recommend this one. I used to bring him to the vet to have his nails trimmed and ground but had to leave a couple of times since he was not cooperating. This tool is saving me time, money and stress to my dog.

Amazing!!!
This works SO well!! I was scared to do it because I’ve never done a dog’s nails before, but it was very easy to get used to. I have a husky whose nails grow very sharp and a few seconds of this on each nail smooths them over. I started on 1, then I did eventually graduate to 2 to take off more length at a time – the noise doesn’t bother her at all. It’s very easy to hold in your hands and maneuver around to get the best angle. It came charged and hasn’t died on me yet, after a few days of doing a little at a time, and then one big session of getting every nail. Of course the smell is like filing your own nails, but much stronger, and it definitely can get a little stinky if you do a lot at once. I didn’t think the dust was too bad, but it wouldn’t hurt to use a mask to be safe. She has very hairy feet and I didn’t have any trouble with her hair getting stuck, but I did try my best to hold it of the way to avoid it as a few reviews had mentioned it. I can’t recommend this enough, even if you’re a beginner! Great tool. I’m so happy with it.

Works but not well
The battery doesnât hold a charge long. It only holds for 2 feet then has to be recharged ð and the grinder is getting dull after only 3 usesâ¦(3 uses is 6 puppy feet) so thatâs a bummer but it is easy and I love the idea. Worth the price u get what you pay for.

My PUG is an absolute nightmare when it comes to his claws , these were brilliant , took the claw down neatly after a few minutes he was used to it and didn’t fuss . Easy to use , would highly recommend

Es hermoso, a mis perras no les podÃa cortar con las pinzas porque se ponÃan muy nerviosas por la presión en su uñas pero nada que ver con el molinillo, se quedan hasta dormidas mientras se las lijo (igual yo las condicioné a agarrar les sus patitas desde que las adopté). De verdad que me estoy dando contra la pared por no haberlo comprado antes, me hubiera ahorrado mucho estrés.

Used it 3 times now. Works great on my huskies thick nails. She does NOT like getting her nails trimmed and did not give us any issues when we used this on her. She was actually “comfortable” with it.. Some training treats definitely help for a distraction, but it is not loud like a lot of the other nail trimmers and does not startle her. The light is also very helpful on it. Highly recommend.

Je lis pas mal de commentaires des gens qui dissent que leur chiens ne tolèrent pas de tout le son d’un coup, mais dans les instructions clairement c’est remarqué de les habituer avec des friandises avant, à l’odeur de la machine et au bruit avant avec ça, et certes, ça fonctionne parfaitement, mes chiens y sont habitués l’un dans quelques minutes avec cette méthode (elle est rapide pour ça) et l’autre en 2 jours. Je suis content avec le produit et la qualité de la machine, meilleure que le Dremmel pour chiens que j’avais aperçu dans autres endroits.
