Make it Waterproof: Roll and Buckle the Dry Bag
Step 1: Prepare to Roll
With the dry bag completely unrolled, force out excess air, then grab the top and begin to roll down towards the back of the bag.
Step 2: Roll 2 to 3 Times
Roll the top of the bag 3 times until the carabiner is facing up.
Step 3: Buckle
With each side of the buckle in opposite hands, connect at the top and fasten. This creates a waterproof seal and functions as a carry handle.

Really like the survival bag. Y as minimal gear, but seems to be all you may need for injury(ies) love the dry bag storage. I’m keeping it in my boat, so I hope it keeps it dry unlike my J&J plastic FAK. Did annual check, EVERYTHING was ruined!

The original seam sealing was not durable, but the vendor is top notch.
The “waterproof” bag needs more quality control. The bottom seam on the dry bag was not properly sealed. Luckily, my first use of this was a hike and not a canoe trip and there was only rain on my first hike with it so the contents didn’t get wet. The kit was attached to the back of my pack via its carabiner. I noticed the seam was open after only logging about 9 miles with it. The vinyl had a flash of white edging that caused me to take a second look during a break. I found about a 1.5″ gap where I could poke my finger completely inside the bag. I may be able to patch it with a vinyl repair kit, but I expect a survival kit to survive more abuse.Update: After hearing about the defect, the vendor sent me a replacement product. The replacement has a much better seam weld and has already survived more abuse than the first. Iâm adding 3 stars because this vendor stands behind their product.

This product is amazing! There are so many items included in the Breakwater Supply survival first aid kit, and some are items that I never would have thought to add if I was creating my own kit from scratch. A highlight for me was the inclusion of the paracord bracelet and wire saw! I also enjoy the fact that the kit is fairly small in size and able to fit in my saddlebags as well as my hiking day pack without taking up a ton of space. I also feel a lot safer having it on me when I am out enjoying the great outdoors! It also comes with a locking carabineer so you can easily attach it to any of your other bags. Iâm thinking about purchasing another one to keep in my car! All in all, a great product that you shouldnât hesitate on buying!

A little too small
This first aid kit has a good selection of first aid supplies. It is little small and does not have enough room for additional bandages and dressings that I prefer to have when out kayaking.
