Will the shields stay on my sofa?
Yes! The combination of self-adhesive sheets and twist pins will hold the shields in place.
Do I have to use the twist pins?
It is optional, but we recommend it the use of twist pins because they are very effective in keeping the shields flat around the corners and preventing them from peeling off.
Some customers prefer to secure only the top corners.
Will my cat scratch the protected areas?
Most cats won’t attempt to scratch the protected area after shields are installed. Cats don’t like to scratch on plastic FixZilla Cat Furniture Protector are tear-resistant and will significantly prevent pet claw damage.
Does it damage my furniture?

Even though our cats have lots of scratching places, for some reason they REALLY like the fabric on our new couch. One thing I noticed about some of the reviews here is that a lot of people, for whatever reason, didn’t use the included pins to install these onto the furniture. I’m not sure if people are not aware that there are pins, or if they decided to not use them, or if for some reason some of these don’t come with the pins, but ours came with pins, and we used them.

These things are great! We just stick them on a few spots where the cats tend to scratch and pull. They keep trying but they get nowhere! Saved my new furniture for sure!! Easy to cut to size. Stick well enough to stay on but don’t leave sticky residue.

The Reaper Great value for thick protectors and several.
Recommended. Got a new couch added their cat blanket & scratching post so they don’t feel the need to sentify it. Still one of our girls tried scratching it, so these protectors are a must. We had even in the 10 pack to protect all four corners the sides and front. Even had an extra sheet left over we cut and used on another couch and our fabric bed corner. Will buy again.

Fantastic! Great value! Saving my furniture!
These are easy to apply, stay in place, and most importantly, the cats donât scratch the furniture anymore! The first ones I put on over a year ago are still in place and look as good as the first day. Theyâre easy to cut to a custom shapes or sizes. I recently tried them on a window screen that the cats like to pull out, and itâs working! We still have fresh air, but the cats canât get out that window anymore. Iâm buying another pack so I have them on hand when the cats pick a new scratching spot.

These work quite well, considering the challenges
Applying *any* cover to a couch is problematic, complicated by fabrics that don’t accept adhesives on soft, pliable surfaces as well as the added complication of moving surfaces for recliners, etc. With all that in mind, I found that these cat scratch furniture protectors work quite well.Pros:* Adhesive is just about right – neither too sticky, nor not sticky enough.* Size of pieces – also just about right (2x sizes), which can be combined as needed.* Good ease of use, e.g., removing the tape backing, applying to couch surface, etc.* Fastener pins – although not perfect – work well enough (see my comments below)Cons:* Kind of pricey, though I did get a discount when shopping during Christmas time.* The “1, 2, 3” instructions gloss over some challenges, e.g., how to combine / position sheets, how many fasteners to use, and how to use fasteners under different circumstances.Fasteners:Worth a few comments (see close-up pics of the fasteners, and of the fasteners installed). They’re these curious twist/push pins with a sharp tip that you push through the protective sheet and couch fabric, then firmly twist to “grab the couch fabric” and help keep the protective sheets attached to your couch. When I first looked at them, I initial reaction was that they were kind of sketch – a strange shape, and not very strong. But as I applied them I began to realize that they work pretty well under challenging circumstances to provide some degree of improved “stay in place” durability for your affixed protective sheets. After installing dozens of fasteners here’s a few take-aways I hope will be helpful:* The fastener head is small and it’s a bit difficult to force the fastner tip through 1 or 2 sheets and through the couch fabric, so I used a vice-grip to hold a fabric needle and used that to “pre-drill” holes for the fasteners, which then were easy to poke through the hole and begin twisting.* Even under ideal conditions twisting the fastener into the couch fabric and ensuring it is flush to the protective sheet in order to hold it in place is an art. It helps to visualize the spiral needle worming it’s way through the fabric then at the end you need one last extra firm twist to “lock” the fastener in place, which on the inside means that you’ve compressed the spiral needle against the back side of fabric.* It’s a bit more tricky when there’s wood behind the fabric. If the fabric is glued to the word, you’re probably out of luck, but if there’s some “flex” to the fabric you can wiggle the fastener and gently pull the fabric toward you (away from the wood) to allow the spiral needle to worm it’s way in.* Sometimes despite your best effort the fastener doesn’t go in or stay in properly or mount with the head nice and flush against the protective sheet. My take is that this is to be expected since the whole process of inserting the fasteners is a combination of art, skill and luck. If a fastener doesn’t work well, pull it out and try again with another (I got pretty good after a few dozen, but tossed some out as I was learning).Cat Scratch Prevention Effectiveness: Best I can tell so far, wherever you place these protectors the cats do not even try to scratch – it’s just not satisfying. So when affixed, these protectors work quite well!

My cat has a ton of scratching posts, blocks, towers, etc. You name it, I have it, and yet the little booger still prefers to scratch up my couches. At first I was using clear tape, then discovered this was a total waste of time and money, since my cat eventually figured out how to pull the edges up and scratch underneath. So I decided to try this product.Pros:- Easy to apply.- Can overlap on the edges and that doesn’t affect utility.- It does a great job at protecting my furniture because my cat cannot get her claws through the material.- You can cut it into the shapes that suit you.- It comes with enough pieces that you can mix and match shapes and sizes to suit you.Cons:- Adhesion can be questionable. Even though I followed the instructions to vacuum the couch and I stuck in the tacks to keep them in place, there are spots where the protectors are peeling off.- They do not bend well around curved parts or corners. These spots are also coming off.- My cat has annoyingly discovered that there are spots where the protectors don’t cover either because it’s around a curve or because it wasn’t large enough to provide coverage, so she scratches those spots, and I’ve had to put clear tape over top to fill the spaces in between.- This is just a nitpick, but it’s not pretty. It just isn’t. You can definitely tell it’s there and you will always feel (and hear) the plastic when you lean on it or touch it.Overall, I think it’s worth the money. It does the job.

Need a couple for a bigger couch
Had to get a couple to cover the surfaces of my couch but they work great. Theyâre easy to install and remove without leaving any marks. Pretty durable and stay on for a while. My cat wonât even try to scratch when she feels them.

Keeps cats from scratching
These are fantastic! I just got a new sofa and my cats are quite happy with it. A little too happy and have tried using it as a scratching post. I purchased this and put it all along the bottom edge of my sofa and my cats haven’t scratched my sofa since. I didn’t use the little screw tacks, but the adhesive was plenty strong enough without damaging the fabric. I was even able to reposition them a couple times and the adhesive is fine (I would rub the side of my fist over the patch to make sure it had good adhesion). Great product and was just what I needed to keep the cats from scratching the sofa (I don’t mind if they lay or sleep on it, just don’t want them to scratch). Everyone is happy and my new sofa will last a little longer.

Bueno creo que ahora si ya puedo hacer un comentario pues han pasado varios dÃas desde que me llegó el producto e inmediatamente los coloqué estrategicamente a mis muebles. Puedo decir que desde que los puse mis gatos no han rascado las esquinasl. Si lo han hecho ha servido para disuadirlos y eso es exactamente lo que yo querÃa. Los vinilos llegaron doblados y pensé que ya se habian arruinado pero los puse en el piso primero con peso encima para hacerlos planos y como son suaves si funcionó. LLegaron doblados porque los empacaron en un sobre muy pequeño en vez de algo como una caja para protegerlos eso es lo único que no me gustó. Pero hasta el dÃa de hoy puedo decir que están haciendo su trabajo de proteger las esquinas de mis sofás y sillones.

Comprei pra usar nas cadeiras de jantar. Funciona super bem. Meus gatos pararam de arranhar minhas cadeiras. Quando fixamos no móvel fica o acabamento brilhoso do plástico mas não me incomoda. Prefiro assim do que os gatos rasgando o tecido.

This is the second time I’ve ordered these couch protectors as they really deter my two cats from scratching the sides and back of the couch and armchairs. Eventually they lose some of their stickiness and need to be replaced. Will definitely keep using these as long as I have cats.

I was skeptical, but this sticky paper really works! As soon as I applied it, my cats completely stopped scratching my furniture. I did find that adding a few small pins helped secure it, especially on fabric surfaces. It’s a much better solution than dealing with shredded furniture. I’m very pleased with the results.
