The Adtemp 418N is an updated version of our most feature-rich digital stick thermometer with measurements in as little as eight seconds. Offers large, easy-to-read LCD with color-coded backlighting: Green for readings in the normal range and red for readings above 99.5�F. The flexible tip provides added safety. Best digital thermometer for the price
I have owned several digital thermometers in this price range, and this ADC is by far the best. It’s fast enough (takes around 10 seconds), very easy to read, and unlike all the others I’ve owned, I can actually hear the beep from the ADC. I have thrown out all the other digital thermometers.

FINALLY a consistent thermometer!
My wife has bought numerous thermometers for our son over his six years. Including at least two quite expensive ones (one was in-ear and one was a forehead thermometer). Itâs always seemed like more guess work than need be on our part to determine if he REALLY has a fever or not and whether itâs mild or not. Well, since he started school this year heâs caught and brought home numerous and varied illnesses. We finally got fed up with the in-ear thermometer. Itâs grown more even more fickle over time. And considering his latest illness was an ear infection, we decided it was time for something else. Enter the expensive forehead thermometer. While the in-ear thermometer was wishy-washy with its numbers, the forehead thermometer is basically a random number generator. Despite following instructions to the letter, that thing throws out wildly different numbers on back to back readings. Weâve tried on him and both of us. Even holding it perfectly still to your own forehead and taking two readings back to back without moving – it will vary as much as 4-5 degrees. Not tenths, but whole number degrees. Sometimes less, but never consistent with itself or the in-ear.Fed up, I head to Amazon and start looking for oral thermometers (you can use it under the armpit as well). Iâve bought other medical equipment from ADC and was always satisfied with the quality. This thermometer has not let me down.FINALLY we get numbers that are not only consistent but also line up to what we are expecting. (While we canât predict his actual temperature – we do know that when heâs sweating from his head and complains of the chills elsewhere and is hot to the touch that he very likely has a fever – despite the other thermometers measuring temperature sometimes down to 96F. Likewise, we know that his temperature is not 107F as read by the forehead thermometer when he feels mildly warmer than normal but is displaying no other signs – the reading taken immediately after was 101.2F and then 99.4F all in the same location and within about 15 seconds total).Itâs quite a relief to finally have a thermometer that is consistent, and gives numbers that are within the range of reasonableness. All at a much lower price. It might not be quite as fast as the other two (but at 8 seconds itâs hardly slow) and it might not seem as convenient (or may even be seen as âoutdatedâ). However, it actually does the function for which it was purchased – we trust that it gives us a reasonably accurate reading of our childâs temperature. Mine too for that matter as heâs passed several of these ailments on to me.

Fast And Seems Accurate
From the times I have used it, this thermometer has provided a temp in about 8 seconds each time. So, as for speed, the manufacturer’s claims are correct.But what really matters is accuracy (otherwise why bother). I compared it to my $60 Braun tympanic (ear) thermometer and the ear thermometer read 98.2 and the ADC thermometer read 98.1. Later on I tried it again and they both read within 0.2F from one another. I am fine with this. I don’t have a NIST lab grade thermometer to compare it with, but from my basic testing I feel that the manufacturer’s claim of being accurate to within 0.2F (0.1C) is probably correct.For non-Americans, you can switch the temp to Celsius by turning it off and holding the button down for several seconds.All in all, I am happy with it. Unless you want to pay a lot of money, you probably aren’t going to find a better oral thermometer for home use.

Good Battery Life, Easy to Read and Temp Accuracy Pretty Stable
Spent a long time looking for thermometers. I had no idea there were so many types and brands. Itâs just a thermometer, right? Reading the reviews about different brands having short to no battery life, inaccurate and inconsistent temperatures readings and other not-so-good qualities became a bit overwhelming. I finally chose this thermometer. Glad I did. Not perfect, but very good. I tested th accuracy several times and it was never off by more than one degree. I like the plastic case and thermometer sleeves too. So far so, good. Battery still strong. Easy to read. I recommend.

Buon termometro, molto rapido nella lettura e sufficientemente preciso (abbiamo confrontato con un vecchio termometro a gallio), ideale per i bimbi anche neonati, infatti ne abbiamo preso un altro per la nostra seconda figlia! Occhio solo a ricordarsi di cambiare la batteria prima che si scarichi troppo, altrimenti nel momento di necessità urgente non si potrà avere una lettura affidabile

De momento funciona tal y como anuncian, es rápido y práctico, si no tienes fiebre se retro ilumina en verde, si tienes en rojo. Tiene números grandes para verlo fácilmente, en unos 8 segundos ya tienes la temperatura, se ve fiable. Para cambiar de Fh a C° mantener pulsado el encendido unos 3 sec.
