Itâs huge, but good
Edit to add: after using this for a few weeks, Iâll say itâs the best thermometer Iâve ever had. Very fast, and the magnets let me leave it stuck on the side of my refrigerator which is very convenient. I got it on sale for $27 which is a great value.Initial review:Much larger than I expected⦠my other thermometers are comparatively tiny. In the first photo, next to a ruler and a US Quarter for scale, in the second, in my hand, and as Iâm 6â5â my hands are pretty big.Despite the overall size the stainless steel probe is a bit shorter than it could be, but not a dealbreaker.SPEEDI bought this as my other thermometers were too slow (4-5 seconds). This one reads very fast, however this Amazon page claims 0.5 seconds, and the instructions with the thermometer actually say 1 second.In practice it seems that the read speed is âless than 1½ secondsâ.Measuring room temp (ambient) to hot tap water (110 degrees) time is about 1.1 seconds. From ice water to hot tap water about 1.3 seconds.However, it is within a degree in less than a second, and thatâs blazing fast for all practical purposes in the kitchen.Iâll add additional timings in the future, but in practice this is plenty fast for kitchen purposes, which is what Iâm using this forâwhen cooking 4 to 6 chicken breasts I want to get their internal temps as quickly as possible. My old thermometers were worthless in this regard.BUILD QUALITYCame in a quality box with alkaline battery and a small screwdriver which is needed for the battery cover.Overall build quality is good with a lot of rubberized parts. It has a hole for hanging or a lanyard, and magnets that let you store it on the side of a fridge.The readout is a bright red LED type, which is great unless you have the protanopia type of colorblindness, in which case you may have reduced brightness for these LEDs. I havenât measured the wavelength, so canât say how much a protanopia or achromatopsia CVD vision may have issues here.I got this on sale/coupon for $27, which was an astounding good deal. The features and quality put this on par with the $100 Thermopen.

Accurate and easy to use
I’ve used other thermometer but questioned their accuracy . They were also cumbersome to use or read.. This thermometer is accurate. The digital display is easy to read, especially for a person with glasses. The rapid read is a great feature. I have used it to measure different types of foods,, even water for activating yeast. The magnet and slim size is a good feature. I keep it on the edge of the microwave over my stove. Easy access for measuring. I found it easy to clean. All in all I’m very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this thermometer.

Great thermometer for all things food
Iâve been using an old meat thermometer for about 10 years now. I was starting to get concerned about accuracy, plus it was a little slow with giving me my temperature reading. I decided to look into upgrading to a new meat thermometer that I could trust, and would be quicker giving me the temperature of my food. When I came across this thermometer, I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did! It gives readings accurately and immediately. I especially like the rotating screen feature. It makes it easy to read the temperature, no matter how I am holding the thermometer. I also love the design of the thermometer overall. It feels very comfortable in your hand and is easy to use. Excellent food thermometer. I highly recommend.

Fast and accurate, the one to get!
Instant Read Digital Meat Thermometer; it really is instant; faster than you can get your hand oriented! Has an easy calibration, instructions included, I did that and found it was accurate as shipped. Reads ‘upside down’ so you can point the probe to the left or right. I use it mainly grilling outside and could still see the display in direct sunlight, although it’s better in shade. Really easy to use, good instructions included. Magnets built in, gloms right on to my grill. Turns off automatically after 2 minutes to save battery, but turns itself back on when you pick it up. All-in-all a good, accurate, fast, handy food (or other things) digital thermometer. Packaged beautifully, fast shipment, great seller! 5 Stars!

A must-have for any cook!
This is a great digital thermometer. It looks sleek and fits nicely in any kitchen drawer or hangs on a kitchen hook. Temperature reading is instant. Got it in time for Thanksgiving 2023 and used it for my turkey. Took it out at exactly 165-F and the turkey was perfect.Features I especially like:The needle wipes clean, and turns on/off when opening/closing the needle. You can switch between F/C units with a button on the back. The LED display self orients on which way you are holding the device. It takes a common AAA battery, which one is supplied as well as the screwdriver to open the battery compartment.Makes a great gift!

So Fast!!!
This thermometer worked absolutely amazing when I was cooking my prime rib on Christmas! It reads so fast that you can take constant temperature readings as you are pulling it out of the meat. The display is huge and easy to read, plus it flips right-side up no matter how you are holding the thermometer! I 100% recommend a buy on this one!!!

I love this Thermometer. So much easier to use in low light. Big, bright display that gives a fast, accurate reading. Magnetic so it sticks to the grill when not in use. Includes battery and screwdriver for installing battery. I have used several types of thermometers and this is the best so far.

Very Good Kitchen Tool
This product is very fast, easy to use and accurate. The reasons I donât think itâs a five star product are that itâs a little bulky and replacing the battery is a finicky job requiring a screwdriver. They do supply a miniature screwdriver.
