I used to sometimes buy the Whole Foods brand of heavy cream, thinking it was the equivalent of this — just cream. But no, it has added fillers, including gums, which can disrupt your gut microbiome’s health. Thank you, Clover, for actually selling heavy cream — & *just* heavy cream! Appreciate you!

Wow, the only ingredient is cream! All the other ones have gums and fillers in them. Iâm shocked. We made the best whipped cream with 3 T maple syrup and 2 T pure vanilla for our pumpkin and pecan pies.

Last year my family and I did some research about carrageenan and decided to majorly cut it out of our diet. It was easier than I expected in some ways but the hardest change was finding a new heavy whipping cream out there that didn’t have it. A needle in a haystack seems easier. I tried a few but they were small, expensive and not pleasant tasting but thankfully one day I found this on Amazon Fresh (never seen it at any stores in person unfortunately) and was delighted to see the lack of ingredients 😀 Very surprised as well. The colors and images on the packaging are also very soothing on a sensory level.The only bummers are the price and the size. It can run out too fast especially when making multiple batches of biscuits. Often when we are shopping on here for something else, if we see that this is available we will add one to the cart, since it seems to fairly often go out of stock.

No UHT, no additives, whips well, tastes good
The date on this will be weeks sooner than on ultra pasteurized cream, but it should last longer past the printed date and usually just get a little sour at first, still fine for adding to savory sauces and soups. Most other heavy creams are ultra pasteurized and/or have additives which makes them not whip as well or taste as good. And when they go off it’s more likely to be from nastier bacteria that do worse than make them sour.
