Why does Straight Silk Spray protect hair from heat?
Straight Silk Spray is formulated and tested to protect hair at temperatures up to 450F degrees when used with specific styling instruments. This consists of one pass at maximum heat setting for blow drying and flat ironing. Curling iron is tested at 8 seconds per hair section at maximum heat setting. These laboratory tests are based on the average maximum heat setting for styling instruments of up to 450F degrees and is not recommended for use with instruments with higher than stated maximum operating temperatures.
Does Straight Silk Spray contain ingredients that are damaging to hair?
The ingredients in Straight Silk Spray do not contain any harsh chemicals, alcohol or any other substances known to be damaging to hair.

This is the absolute best heat protector Iâve used. Used to use âhot off the pressâ. But this works way better. Keeps the hair soft and healthy with a lovely shine. Awesome product!

I bought this in 2023 when I first noticed it and if I recall correctly it was being newly introduced. Remarkable results. I just recently finished my bottle. I look it up from time to time and am astounded but not surprised on the huge sales and great reviews. I blow dry but seldom iron my relaxed 4c hair. I have since purchased a more popular, lower priced but smaller size of a comparable product. It’s okay. But before I finished my bottle of this I switched off and on a few times between the two. This is superior. My hair feels so much softer and straightens better with this product. Kudos to the makers and their success with this product. I am reordering soon and now I know not to bother with anything else.

Good product.
I bought this to protect my hair from the heat, but my 4C hair did not stay straight. The product seems to be good though. I have no signs of heat damage, so it did what it was supposed to.

Didn’t work as I wanted
I just tried this product yesterday. My hair felt soft but not straight. My hair is thick and I just transitioned from a wash and go for the summer. I even had to flat iron my hair again this morning as it frizzed again. I will try again next week. I am really disappointed!
