Iâve gone through so many cleansers trying to find something that wouldnât dry out my sensitive skin, and this one is a winner. Itâs gentle but still gets the job doneâleaves my skin feeling clean, soft, and hydrated instead of tight or stripped. Best gentle cleanser Iâve ever used
This is hands down one of the best cleansers Iâve tried for sensitive skin. It feels luxurious going on, foams just the right amount, and leaves my skin incredibly soft and hydrated. No tightness, no residue â just calm, clean skin. I love that itâs fragrance-free and works beautifully on both face and body. Very good cleanser that neither breaks me out or dries my skin
I’ve tried many oil cleansers and this is the one I’ll stick with. I have seasonal combination dry skin (dry all over in the winter, normal with dry T-zone in spring and summer). I’ve used Bioderma shower oil (the huge bottle, not the biosensi one which I heard was a good one but haven’t tried it), Purito oil cleanser, manyo original oil cleanser, all types of Banila Co cleansing balms, Anua oil cleanser, and in the past 2 weeks, this La Roche Posay (LRP) oil cleanser. It’s the only cleanser that neither dries out my skin nor breaks me out.Here’s a crash course on oil cleansers: there are oil based oil cleansers and there are water-based oil cleansers. Sounds confusing, I know. When you read the ingredient list, if the first ingredient is water, it is a water-based oil cleanser, otherwise, it’s an oil-based oil cleanser. Both types work by dissolving the grime and makeup on your face with an oil or lipid, then emulsifying that gross oil with water to make it rinse off clean and not leave your face greasy. The oil-based oil cleansers have to be applied on dry face with dry hands, then emulsified by adding a bit of water, then rinsed off. The water-based oil cleansers can be applied on wet face since they contain water already, and they tend to foam up (emulsify) very easily.Among the cleansers I’ve used, manyo, Purito, Banila Co, and Anua were oil-based oil cleansers. They are excellent at removing makeup and exfoliating dead skin. They tend to break me out though, despite me emulsifying them very thoroughly and double cleanse with a facial soap afterwards. Bioderma and LRP are water based and they don’t exfoliate so well, but they also don’t break me out. They do a decent job at cleansing my face. I don’t wear makeup except lipstick and they can take care of that easily. I do wear sunscreen, but that’s not something I can be sure whether they can remove completely or not. Bioderma is cheap but leaves my skin a bit dry. LRP is cheap, just not as cheap as Bioderma, and does not dry out my skin at all.TL:DR: If you have very dry skin that’s not prone to breakout, and/or you wear heavy makeup, and/or you want an excellent exfoliator, use an oil-based oil cleanser (manyo, Anua, Banila Co…) Make sure you start with dry face, dry hands, massage thoroughly before adding a bit of water to emulsify, then then rinse off. Your face should not feel oily afterwards, but if it does, try double cleanse with a foaming cleanser afterwards.If you have dry-ish skin that’s prone to breakouts, try a water-based oil cleanser (LRP, Bioderma, Cerave…). With these you can actually double cleanse with the same cleanser, in case it doesn’t take all of your makeup off in one go.

My teen’s favorite cleanser
This gentle face cleanser is the only one my son will use, and I totally get why! ð¿ Itâs a bit on the expensive side, but itâs absolutely worth it for his sensitive skin. It has a very luxurious feel, and itâs super gentle without irritating his skin. Never using another cleaner again
Love this cleanser. I use it daily, I love how clean it leave my skin, but it doesn’t leave it squeaky and feeling dry. It feels moisturized and soft. I never want to use another cleanser again. The texture if not oily, it feel more like the texture and thickness of body a clear bodywash.Something to note: My wife used it and she had eczema, it did not go well for her. She broke out in hives on her face, not aggressive but a few bumps appeared after she used it two days in a row.

I prefer the Bioderma one, and it happens to be a lot cheaper too. That’s the oil cleanser I fell in love with and I haven’t used traditional cleansers since.This one leaves a film and has caused some breakouts, probably due to the addition of shea butter. When I follow up with a toner, the residue will foam up on my face – which means it’s not properly reacting and cleansing off with just water, but it is reacting with the solvents in (some of) my toners…It does foam better than other oil cleansers but that’s NOT a good thing if the idea is to avoid surfactants by using an oil cleanser… The less a cleanser foams, the milder tends to be.It has left dry patches on my elbows and knees, and it makes me itchy when atmospheric humidity is low.I think the harsh, mineral-rich mountain water cannot properly cleanse this oil wash, and Bioderma (NAOS is usually credited for inventing micellar water to combat the hard water in France) is perfect.In fact, it’s the only brand of micellar water that doesn’t foam on me either! It cleanses perfectly, whereas nothing – not even water – seems to do it.I’m not shilling for Bioderma either, as I don’t use any other products by Bioderma, and the ones I used I didn’t like, but the micellar water and the oil cleanser have changed my skincare game.

I have sensitive acne prone combination skin and used this product as the first step in my double cleansing routine to remove mineral sunscreen (I donât wear makeup). I chose it because itâs from a reputable brand and comes in a generous size, so I had high hopes. Unfortunately, by day 3, I started noticing tiny closed comedones forming on my cheeks, forehead, and chin. My skin didnât tolerate it well, like many others who gave this product 1 star. This may work for others, but if you’re acne prone or sensitive like me, I would be cautious.
