I use these as a plastic-free alternative to dog poop bags
I really want to make an effort to reduce my use of single-use plastics, even the ones that are supposedly biodegradeable. So, my choices were paper or reuseable. No thanks to the reuseable. But paper comes in all kinds of forms and is very biodegradeable.They’re waxed so they’re moisture resistant, which means you can pick up most dog poop without it soaking through the bag onto your fingers. They also hold up to light rain, which beads up on the paper.They’re a little more delicate than a plastic bag so you have to work out how to pick up dog poop with them. I just do a careful version of what I did with plastic bags – stick my hand in the bag, pick up the poop, and careful turn the bag inside out around the poop. This is where you have to be careful because the bag can tear, though I’ve only had it tear around the top. Then I twist it and toss it.I have two Dobermans and I can use one bag per poop, generally. If a poop is kind of messy I’ll involve paper towels. But, messy poops are hard to pick up with plastic bags, too.Anyway, I like this as an alternative. I’d have preferred the bag to be gusseted on the bottom as well as the sides, but I can’t seem to find that. But being waxed and having this level of thickness to the paper seems to suffice.

A bit small
ok, first off, why did I buy 500 of these bags. Regardless I have them now. I was looking for small paper bags that were lined so they didn’t leak in case something go placed inside that would leak. I didn’t want the small plastic bags since they have to be pulled over the edge of most garbage cans and look messy. While it is that type of bag, It was a little smaller than I was hoping for and the bottom is not wide as it is advertised. I was looking for a bag with a flat bottom like a paper grocery bag or paper lunch bag. In the description it has a picture that looked like it would have a flat bottom. This does not have a flat bottom. I can manipulate the bag to flatten the bottom, but it is not flat on the bottom. Since the bags are small, I think I may go thru them faster than if they were larger, but 500 bags is a lot. The quality is good and they do not rip easily which I am very happy about. The only issue is the bottom and size. When I manipulate the bag to make a flat bottom, the bag is no longer 10.25 inches in height since you will be taking away from the height to make the wide bottom to sit flat in a garbage can. Hope for my next purchase I can find one thata is slightly larger
