Not for folks with dry skin!
After seeing an ad for the name brand TENS-like sleep aid device and having sleep problems for years, I decided it wouldnât hurt to research the device. The device makers claim that it works by producing a low frequency (2-3 Hz) pulse, when held in the palm of your hand, âentrainsâ your brain into a delta wave state (commonly experienced with deep sleep and unconsciousness). I have tried light and sound machines that claim the same effect with limited success. This device is based on a belief that your hands are like a second brain and are tied closely neurologically to your brain. The device has several selectable âpowerâ levels that are absolutely necessary – skin conductivity varies among different people and even day to day in an individual. I have found that if my hands are dry from working outside, even the highest setting cannot be felt. Conversely, lotion or sweaty hands can make even the lowest setting almost painful. I think that is why reviews vary widely among users. So⦠does it actually work? After using it for almost two months, my experience has been very good. It took about a week of using it to get used to the pulsed electrical stimulation and fiddling around with the power levels (which I have had to vary almost every session due to my hands varying conductivity as will you). Noticed an improvement in getting to sleep and the quality of my sleep after a couple of days use. It has since improved to the point I use it daily now – I take it with me when I travel and the time it ran out of power (I have been getting about 12 to 15 sessions on a charge) Iâve found I canât sleep well without it.I found several reviews of the name brand device that said they had purchased this device as a second purchase and that it works as well as the name brand and I concur. At the price point I would recommend buying it!

Not sure if i will keep it yet
Only had it for two days and i have tried it at bedtime. Right now the product is not working. It had a 20 minute timer which shuts off snd i am still awake. It is easy to hold due to its small features . I will continue to use rest of week if nit i will return the product.

Good but not sure kids would like it!
This reminds me of the game at an arcade where you get points for keeping your hands on the metal handles while it zaps you. I was okay as an adult holding it on lower power but I don’t know how kids hold it to fall asleep?! It works much like lemon, ice/cold water or sour candy helps you re-regulate your emotions though.

Most solid sleep I’ve had in months!
I don’t know why it works, but it does. The only thing I would change about this is the brightness of the light for the buttons. Like a beacon in a dark room, LOL.But who cares when you have chronic insomnia? You’ll try anything. So, I got this little dude and was a total skeptic. I pressed buttons to see what they all did and found the setting that felt right to my hand. I used the left hand. Then I started reading like I always do. Nothing noticeable happened through the 20-minute cycle, so I started over and did it again. The next thing I knew, it was 5 AM. Wait. What?? No frickin’ way! Tried it again the next night. I didn’t make it through the first cycle and woke up around 3 AM to use the bathroom and then fell right back to sleep. The next night… I don’t even remember reading, LOL.In the morning, I walked out to my husband, whose insomnia is worse than mine, and handed it to him without saying anything. He said, “Uh oh!” He thought it was a different kind of device, if you know what I mean, wink, wink. And I said the same thing I said above… “I don’t know why it works, but it does,” and then explained it. I gave him the instructions so he could read about it. He’s geeky that way.He tried it for 3 nights and had a very similar experience. I got up a few days later, and he was alert and watching the news. I said, “Why are you awake?” He said, “Because I slept all night!” He smiled…I’m buying another one so we don’t have to share it. I hope you have the same experience!!

Helps with my anxiety
I know there are a lot of negative reviews for this thing but I really like it. It does not vibrate. Itâs more like tiny electric pulses. It feels like pins and needles when your had falls asleep is the best way I can think to describe it. It has different settings. If you hold it in your hand with the silver part on under your fingers, you feel it more, especially if hands are sweaty or you put on lotion. If you turn it so the silver part is on your palm, the feeling is less pronounced. When you turn it on, it runs for 20 mins and then shuts off. You can then turn it back on again. Battery life is good and it doesnât take long to charge. It comes with a charger. I use it for my anxiety. It helps me stay more grounded. I can focus on the feeling it provides in my hand and I find it comforting.

Itâs difficult to tell which setting youâre on. the low setting was still so uncomfortable I kept thinking maybe there was a lower one and of course then Iâd get a fright from the higher setting (Iâm a 32 year old).I tried 4 sessions and when I finally lasted 20mins the next day my hands were very painful. I had the item 16 days and they wonât accept a return?!!

I did not read the reviews for this product, just general reviews of this type of sleeping aid. Perhaps the more expensive ones are worth a shot, but yeah I was a bit surprised to find out this device shocks you. Have no idea how that’s supposed to get someone to sleep.

After reading all of those positive reviews I was excited to try this with my children however all of us agreed that the product is extremely painful to use and does therefore not have the intended effect. If you like the feeling of receiving electric shocks, maybe this is for you.
