Best natural deodorant Iâve found after 15+ tries
If you are coming from a mass-market anti-perspirant, this review will only be somewhat helpful for you. Your body will have to adjust to a non-anti-perspirant deodorant first, then a ânaturalâ deodorant on top of that. It will take a few weeks like the Oars and Alps product listing states. Iâd recommend finding a mass-market deodorant (only) first, use that for a while, then go to a natural deodorant. Why? Natural deodorants can be irritating to the skin and you donât want to deal with too many transition issues all at once.Iâve been using non-anti-perspirant deodorant for nearly 10 years. I have tried at least 15 natural deodorant brands over that time, usually coming back to a conventional deodorant because the natural deodorant either: stopped suppressing odor before early afternoon, or irritated the daylights out of my skin (baking soda bad!), or couldnât be applied without feeling like a piece of crumbly chalk. Iâll leave financials out of this for now since all the naturals did one of the above regardless of price point. I sort of found one natural that was still chalky, but at least suppressed odor nearly all day and didnât irritate my skin by drying it out, but did cause breakouts!Well, Oars and Alps finally does everything I want it to do. I will say to anybody trying this for the first time to give it two weeks. And that two weeks is AFTER having already transitioned from your anti-perspirant to an intermediary mass market deodorant and having gone through the âdetoxâ process. The first week I switched to O+A, I did have some redness and dryness to my pit skin, but it went away in week two. Iâm glad I stuck it out. The O+A deodorant smells great, works all day, goes on smoothly, doesnât cause breakouts, and lasts longer than many other deodorants, natural or not. Thank goodness ⦠the search is over! (Please O+A, donât change your formula).Now we get to a sticky subject, which is price. O+A is about twice as expensive per unit than even the already expensive natural deodorants. That might be a deal breaker for some, and thatâs a fair reason. I do think O+A lasts a week or two longer than most, but I havenât actually measured that, and the reason could totally just be thereâs more product in a typical unit sold.I think there are a lot of people that will find O+A deodorant to be worth the premium. It will change your mind about natural deodorants. If youâre committed to the idea of using a natural deodorant but don’t want to compromise, give this stuff a shot but stay patient to let it work without irritation after proper transitioning.

A Great Deodorant. I could see how itâs not for everyone (or every smell,) though. Worth a try!
Like what other people said, I can understand why someone might not be able to get the best everlasting odor protection if they do a lot of strenuous movements throughout the day. I usually donât have to deal with that because I do a bit of strenuous activity in the morning and then shower afterwards before putting on this deodorant. Which smells very nice for the first, Iâd say, two or three hours. Now this may sound like not enough, but to be honest other deodorants, even oneâs that smell very âloud,â fade and donât last much longer than that, either. It also does the trick throughout the day of keeping the bad smell away even if the nice smell is very faint. The smell itself also is not the strongest, but smells very natural and clean. Less is more sometimes and it still does the trick. Itâs quite an intriguing smell, and I personally feel sexy wearing this deodorant.Like imagine just a minute, youâre a Wolverine out in the forest but. This time you actually washed your ass beforehand and so you smell like a fresh and fierce but also cute wolverine. but still too sharp for anyone to want to double-cross. thatâs what this smells likeThat brings me to my last point. I also add my perfume/cologne on at the same time of adding this deodorant and I feel like this particular deodorant (the one with bergamot) wouldnât work with two out of three, of my more feminine perfumes. Iâd definitely be considering trying another one once this one is done to see if another one is a little more universal or on the more feminine side. Itâs ultimately a really nice deodorant and would DEFINITELY get it again.One more thing I forgot to mention is that sometimes itâs wet when you put it on. It IS a BIT weird, but it dries and is a very minor issue for me.

Good: Smells amazing, easy to apply.Bad: Does not last very long. I too saw the little stringy things, but I thought nothing of it.Ugly: Like many, this caused rashes to occur on my skin. I ordered 2x sticks and will be returning both. My armpits have red/purple triangles where I applied the deodorant. It does not hurt that much, but again, this is a red flag. I was trying to find a better deodorant, but this ain’t it.

For my body chemistry this was not a good option did not last long but smells good
This may work differently for someone with a different body chemistry but for me it did not work well I had to re-apply it multiple times a day and still found myself smelling badly. This is just one natural deodorant and a long list of natural deodorants that I have tried most of them do not work well and I do like the smell of this one but again did not work for me. The one that worked best for me was bravo Sierra brand deodorant, the ones that smelled best to me were Schmitz brand deodorant. But everybodyâs body chemistry is different and before I switched to natural deodorants a few years ago I used to use the clinical strength stuff so I may not be a good example for someone who is just an average under arm sweater. No natural deodorant stops you from sweating but if you find a good one that works with your body chemistry it will stop you from stinking so this may work for you but did not for me. I found myself having to clean my armpits with a little vinegar in the middle of the day and reapplying the deodorant otherwise even reapplying did not help. The bravo Sierra brand I only had to apply once during the day and it holds throughout even during workouts. The Schmidtâs brand smells better to me but I do not like the texture of it, the bravo Ciara brand is much smoother application. This brand of deodorant has a pretty smooth application so I did like that I also like the container it comes in so those are the pros but again I did not like how it worked for me.

The scenes smell great and natural. The deo doesn’t leave any marks on my shirts which is highly appreciated. The deo doesn’t last long at all. Special on us brown folk that trend to expire more often.

Bought this because I was sick of ruining shirts as the armpits get stained when using the usual anti-perspirant as I work in the Middle East. Itâs got a nice fragrance too. I donât use anything else now.
