This dual-purpose freezer and fridge thermometer monitors internal “room” temperature of the inside of your fridge or freezer and sends it a wireless remote temperature sensor gauge! Two wireless, remote thermometer sensors communicate to the door- or wall-mounted digital display gauge, which provides alerts when freezer or refrigerator temperatures are out of your customized, preferred range. This perfect-for-a-restaurant thermometer helps you store foods at safe temperatures to prevent food spoilage and avoid related foodborne illnesses. The wireless thermometers provide data to the digital thermometer display to show refrigerator and freezer temperatures and record highs and lows for each environment, as recorded by each remote temperature sensor. The programmable alarm notifies you audibly and visually when temperatures rise above or fall below your set minimum or maximum. The digital thermometer display has an integrated magnet and keyhole for easy mounting, and it requires 2 AAA batteries (not included). Each remote temperature sensor requires 2 AA alkaline or lithium batteries (not included). Lithium batteries are recommended for use in sensors for temperatures below 4 degrees Fahrenheit (-20 degrees Celsius). By using this combination of temperature gauge and freezer monitor, you will rest assured that your family or restaurant’s food is stored safely and appropriately. A perfect gift idea for Father’s Day, Christmas, or birthdays, this digital refrigerator and freezer thermometer comes with a one-year limited warranty.
Digital Temperature Sensor Thermometers: Includes one refrigerator thermometer and one freezer thermometer that transmit readings to the wireless digital temperature monitor display
Easy-to-Read LCD Display: The wireless temperature monitor gauge comes with magnetic backing for simple fridge or freezer mounting and a keyhole for easy mounting on a wall
Customizable Temperature Alarms: When a remote temperature sensor measures an out-of-range condition, you’ll be alerted to the temperature spike or drop caused by mistakenly leaving the fridge or freezer door open or a failing appliance
Multiple Internal Placement Options: Each remote temperature sensor has an integrated suction cup and clip that can be attached to a shelf inside the fridge or freezer
Remote Temperature Sensor Temperature Range: Each wireless temperature monitor sensor can measure temperatures from -40 °F to 100 °F (-40 °C to 37 °C)

Already Useful after a Few Weeks
I am a wine writer and also a low carb writer. For both of the websites I run I get bombarded with questions from readers who want to know how to keep their wines and foods fresh for as long as possible. We are all trying to save money in these times, and keeping your food and drink fresh until you finish eating it is certainly an obvious way to help out. In almost every case, my guidance to the people is to test the temperature in their fridge and freezer. Many people are shocked to realize that their fridges are FAR too warm, and that is causing their food to spoil and their wine to sour. The Chaney Refrigerator / Freezer Thermometer is a brilliant way to keep an eye on how your food is doing. Here is how it works. You get one thermometer which you put into the back of your refrigerator. A second thermometer goes into the back of your freezer. Both of these send signals *wirelessly* to a display unit. The display unit is magnetic and can stick easily to the front of your refrigerator. You can walk by your fridge and see at a glance exactly what temperature your fridge and freezer are currently at. The system also displays the highest and lowest temperature each area has reached since you last reset the values. So if you set your fridge normally to 34F and you see that it has been swinging between 20F and 50F, it’s time to call a repair person! That would definitely cause serious damage to your food.In addition, you can set alarm values, both high and low, for both sensors. So you can set the freezer to start beeping an alarm if it drops below -50F, or if it goes up above 0F. Of course the chance of your freezer suddenly going insane and becoming “way too cold” is probably slim – but I know a number of people who had electrical problems with their fridges and who lost cooling ability without realizing it at first. Having a beeping alarm go off before your freezer’s contents all thaw is a very good thing! The wireless unit says that it can transmit a fair distance, but this of course would depend on all sorts of things – if there are concrete walls between the source and destination, if there are other interfering signals around, and so on. For me, I know it works with the display on the outside of the fridge it is monitoring. So I can say with great certainty that that works very well.I know for sure the alarm works wonderfully – only a few weeks after buying the unit, we had a thunderstorm take out the power. It was only a short while later when the fridge half of our unit began beeping. Is there a downside to this? Well, when we first got the set, the display LEDs simply would not light up well. We tried at least 8 different sets of batteries in it to ensure it wasn’t a bad set of batteries. Some of the number pieces would light up, while others would stay completely unlit. We called up Chaney and they were extremely prompt and helpful. Only a few days later we had a fully functional display unit in our hands, and it worked beautifully. Electronic devices will never be 100% foolproof so I don’t ding them much for having that glitch, and offer praise for them resolving it so readily. All in all, I love this device. I can glance at my fridge every time I use it and know exactly what its temperature is and what the recent ranges of temperature have been. I can optimize the fridge and freezer to have the optimal temperatures to keep my food and wine fresh for as long as possible. That means milk lasts longer, salad fixings last longer, everything lasts longer. That stretches my food dollar as well as it can be stretched, and easily pays for the price of the thermometer within a month or two.Highly recommended. I’m even looking into getting another one for my wine fridges. The only question then would be if the wireless transmitters interfere with each other!

    Chaney Instrument 00985 Temperature Alarm
Chaney Instrument 00985 Temperature Alarm works better than expected for local low-impact equipment and room temperture monitoring. I purchased this item to monitor and alert an air conditioner failure in small computer equipment room, and it does the basic job very well! Economical to purchase and easy to install when compared to other Hi-Tech alarm sensor and alarm systems that are out there, this battery-operated unit has two separate and independent zone-monitoring capabilities, digital readouts, and min-max temperature data storage. Each alarm can be programmed to sound-off the built-in tone alarm warning at different temperatures. The main receiver/monitor panel is wireless, in turn has two remotely-located wireless wall-mounted transmitters (that can be placed into different areas), uses common AA and AAA alkaline batteries, and allows two different physical zones to be temperature monitored with custom-programmable temperature values.Originally designed to read-out separate refrigerator and separate freezer compartment temperatures and notify when these temperatures are exceeded; I was able to use this system to monitor both a computer room and next-door photocopier room using the same main panel, but programmed-in two different temperature ranges. The computer room is now set-up to monitor the performance of a small dedicated built-in air conditioner pre-set at 67 deg F. The Chaney Alarm is set to sound-off if the room temperature goes either below 62 degrees F / or heats up over 70 degrees F (this is zone #1). The photocopier room is set up to be monitored when its temperature exceeds 78 degress (this is zone #2). The Chaney Alarm has a built-in alarm sound-off delay of 15 minutes, which prevents false alarms from sounding when an area door is opened or momentarily left open to service equipment, access supplies, or if a sudden (short time) change in room temperature should occur such as with heater or AC cycling. The two wireless transmitters are each separately placed inside the 2 rooms, and each is wall mounted using a standard screw. The receiver panel is located on the other side of the wall from the 2 transmitters, approximatley 5 feet away. Current temperatures for each of the two room zones are continuously displayed on the main receiver panel along with Minimum and Maximum Room Temperatures. The alarm tone is very noticeable (like a microwave oven tone) but is not ear-splitting as is the case with some formal or wired alarm devices. This system does not auto-dial an outside phone number, doesn’t offer a recorded message, doesn’t hook-up to a larger alarm system, transmit information over long distances, or sound a large outside bell as do some systems. However, for the purposes of monitoring the temperatures of 1-2 rooms, 1-2 small zones, monitoring equipment compartment temperatures; or as an econonomical approach to wireless local monitoring (with Human responders sitting or working close-by); the Chaney 00985 unit is a very good equipment purchase. Great product!I have a double door refrigertaor and a deep freezer.Makes me feel safe to be able to monitor the temperature in both.I actually turned down the freezing control to lowest setting in my deep freezer, when I realised that temperature was always showing as lower than -18 celsius. Also helped me realise that freezer in my samsung double door has very wide variation between -5 to -18 on daily basis. Made me realise that it would the reason why ice cream are kind of soft , in the freezer of my double door, compared to deep freezer.I guess that is the reason consumer product companies, don’t put temperature displays on the common refrigerator.

Took a while to understand how this fridge thermostat works. I use the device to monitor my wine cellars and it works for my purpose. The device can’t be to too far from the fridges and can’t be blocked by walls. It took 2.5 minutes for sensors to update. The thermostat takes more than 20min to stablize with the cellar temperature. The alarm function works when I shutdowned the cellar to do maintenance and it triggered the alarm at my preset temperature.
