Compact display, but clearly readable thermometer
The Newentor indoor-outdoor thermometer is a wonderful device. It has a compact display but still displays both indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity clearly. I can read it from across the room. The three channel wireless option avoids conflict with with other devices in the home. And finally, it is battery operated and requires no plug-in, which means no cumbersome cord.

Perfect Size Display
Black trim is easier to read than white, and the size is easy to read, but not too big to get in the way. Like the large temperature number. It displays temp and humidity for outdoor and indoor which is all I care about. There are options for other info display. It didnât work at first, but I received an email that gave tips and realized I had mixed brand and type batteries. Changed them out and works great.

Worked perfectly out of the box
I was looking for a simple indoor/outdoor thermometer with an easy to read backlit display that showed the temperatures with big numbers.The sensor was placed outside on the exterior wall under the roof eave with Scotch Extreme Interlocking Fasteners (ASIN:B00347A8EO). Energizer AA Lithium Batteries (ASIN:B00003IEMD) were used in the sensor to handle lower temperatures.The display unit is sitting on a counter. Rechargeable batteries were used in the display unit.The display unit is separated from the sensor by about 10 feet through stuccoed concrete block and tinted windows.The sensor and weather station connected quickly and have maintained the connection without any problems.While the weather station display is always on, it is dimmed but readable. Tapping the top front of the display activates the backlight – there is no button. After 10 seconds, the backlight powers off. The backlight is not too bright and isn’t blinding when you activate it after waking.Reason for 4 stars and not 5.1) Attempting to mount the display unit on the wall was not successful. If you try to mount the display unit to a wall with Velcro like fasteners, Command strip adhesive or magnetic tape, the battery cover pulls off when you have to change the batteries. On the back of the display unit, there is a place to hang it on a screw or nail. This space is not deep or wide enough to place over a screw. Since you have to tap the display to activate the backlight, I would be concerned that jostling it would cause the display unit to bounce off the screw / nail and fall to the floor.2) The back of the display unit has a lot of recessed areas making it difficult to use an adhesive to affix it to a wall. When attempting to wall mount the display on an interior wall, magnetic tape was used. However, as mentioned above, there wasn’t much surface area for the adhesive side to stick to. On the first attempt to affix the display to an interior wall, the tape detached from display causing the display to fall 5 feet onto a concrete floor. On positive note, the display is well made as the screen was unaffected by the impact. To keep the magnetic tape secure against the display, every other week, the display has to be pressed against the wall to make sure the tape doesn’t detach from the display.3) The display unit’s viewing angle forces you to look perpendicular to the screen. If it’s laying on a flat surface, you’ll have to hover over it to clearly see the screen. If it’s on a counter, you’ll have to lean down to the screen.Overall, this is an excellent upgrade over a conventional mercury thermometer.UPDATE:The AAA batteries in the display unit were able to last 14 months before needing to be changed.

This indoor outdoor thermometer/hygrometer
This wireless thermometer is accurate and easy to set up. The outdoor weather sensor transmits outdoor temperature and humidity that is displayed at the top of the weather station LCD screen in large easy to view numbers. There is a feature to turn on a back light briefly if the room is dark. The indoor device displays a humidity scale to show if it is dry, good, or humid in your environment. The thermometer can be mounted or placed on a table top and moved to any location in your home. Additional sensors can be purchased for other locations outside. A great value! I’m going to get one for my parents.

I got this for my mom for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. She had no problem setting it up and she usually has a hard time with any kind of technology. The outside thermometer is strong enough to handle the heat, rain and weather in general. Works great.

Extremely Accurate, Easy to Setup & Great Display
My humidor has a built-in hygrometer which displays both its humidity & temperature. The humidor is stored in a closed-door cabinet and I have to slide it out each time I want to check its humidity & temperature. I purchased the Newentor sensor for my humidor because I want to monitor both its humidity and temperature at a glance without having to slide the humidor out of the cabinet. I placed the remote sensor in the humidor next to the humidifier element. I am impressed. Presently the built in hygrometer reads 71% humidity & 73 degrees F. The Newentor base reads exactly the same with no deviation or error. I followed the instructions and let the base and sensor self-adjust. I am very pleased with this product and would give it 10 stars if possible. The display alone is easy to read without backlight. Long story short. Extremely accurate, Easy to use, Great display.
