Solid Upgrade from the Cheap Strip Thermometers â Accurate, Affordable, and Easy to Use
I used one of those cheap stick-on strip thermometers on my 20-gallon tank for about a year. It worked okay, but after upgrading to a 40-gallon and seeing one of these digital touch thermometers on a coworkerâs shrimp tank, I decided to give it a tryâespecially since it was only about $10.â What I Like:Way more accurate than the strip ones. With this, I actually trust the temperature readingsâsuper important when you’re dealing with sensitive fish or shrimp.Easy to read and use: The touch display is quick to check with just a tap. I find myself absentmindedly touching it every time I walk byâitâs oddly satisfying.Good adhesion so far: Itâs stuck on well for a few months now. It did fall off once, but Iâm 99% sure that was my catâs fault. There were some suspicious paw smudges and cat hair around the areaâ¦Clean design: It doesnât clutter the look of the tank and is simple to install.â ï¸ Minor Notes:The adhesive pad is decent but not industrial-strength. If you have curious pets (like mine), maybe keep it higher on the tank out of reach or reinforce with a backup adhesive if needed.Doesnât have advanced features: Just a basic thermometerâbut honestly, thatâs all I wanted.ð¡ Final Thoughts:If youâre still using the stick-on strip thermometers, this is a big step up for just a few more dollars. Good value and great, easy product to use.
Bought this to use as a quality control thermometer for my heater. Always matches up within a degree (which is fine because Iâm my aquarium needs to stay between 76&80 generally). Been using it a couple weeks and it works easily. Display is easy to read and I am confident the battery life will be long due to the power saving aspect. You just touch the button and it shows the temp for a few seconds before shutting back off. Installation was a breeze and I wish I didnât wait so long to get one of these for peace of mind. I do have the temperature sticker that came with my tank as well but this just seemed more reliable.

Great! Very accurate. Easy to read display! All I have to do is tap the button to view the temperature. Occasionally, it falls off the tank, but I just stick it back on.
