England has been overrun by a pandemic with no apparent cure.
As the infection continues to spread, safety – for a lucky few – looms in the form of a damaged 747 set to seek solace abroad. It’s only once the plane is airborne that the survivors discover the infection made it onto the flight with them.
As the survivors begin to take sides and try to impress their desires on one another, it becomes clear they’re in as much danger from each other as they are from the infection.
Shot through with an uncomfortably intimate tension, The Carrier mixes classic elements of the best apocalyptic movies with its own unique flourishes to create a film that feels both reminiscent of the masters of the genre and fresh enough to be consider a roaring in its own right.
Tight direction by Anthony Woodley combines with a strong script to bring character and emotion to the forefront and deliver a very human story amid the spread of infection. As the death toll rises and, with the plane forced to land, a battle against the infected reveals the darkest traits of humankind.

Good, steady pace for a movie
There was a lot of action at the beginning and enough information to give the viewer more than an idea of what’s going on. The middle was a bit slower than I’d like, but still steady going. It lagged out a bit at the end, but saved itself at the last couple minutes. Overall, good movie to sit back and chill with.

NO INDIVIDUAL STORY LINES. BAD MOVIE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
Watching this movie was like walking into a movie theater while the movie is half over and you don’t know what’s goin on with all the people (story lines) but you continue waiting because you’re hoping it’ll get better, but it doesn’t.There really aren’t any individual story lines with any of the actors in this movie. Basically after you hit the play button and the movie starts, you’re immediately taken into the scene on a plane of people arguing and some of the people are already infected with a virus. The pilot’s destination is Greenland and he can’t land anywhere else due to infected people on the ground all over the world I guess. Then all of a sudden, there’s a second airplane with a woman pilot and she communicates with the good looking male pilot on the first plane, they plan on landing together. Meanwhile, some man decides to have his arm chopped off to stop his infection from spreading. What the hell is goin on?!, I don’t know! I sat here and kept waiting for the movie to get better but it only got worse. Halfway through, I couldn’t take it anymore and finally hit the stop button and removed the flick from my movie list. That’s one of the worst pandemic movies I’ve ever seen! Next! lol.

Not my cup of tea, but maybe OK for you.
Overall I was a little disappointed. It had a decent premise. The production was professional and the acting was excellent. I just didn’t like the way the story went. So its an opinion thing. It was just full off boneheaded decisions and needless drama. The drama was ladled on too thick. The situation is drama enough you don’t need the mindless stupidity. Also the virus got on the plane way too quick. So at no point is there a feeling of safety to slowly lose. Boom, it is straight into crisis mode in a crisis mode. That is just dumb writing. I wanted so much more for this. Not the actor’s fault. They did great. The plot from start to finish is just garbled. Still, I gave it three because this is all opinion stuff.

    Insipid Gawd Awful
Simply not enough adjectives to describe just how gawd awful this movie was. The makeup of the infected looks like some preschoolers had a fun day with play doh. I think I lost some non critical brain cells sitting through this one. Bad writing, bad direction, cheesy spec. ef.’s, painfully wretched acting. I can’t even go on.

    This can only end poorly…
A thoroughly desperate and depressing story of the slow death of humanity, both literally to the illness and metaphorically as the horror of the portrayed reality strips away the covers of civility and morality we all wear. I thought the acting was quite good, and the story is quite tragic from the very start. Some other comments say that the script is bordering on incoherence, meandering or otherwise poorly constructed, but I find myself wondering if could that be somewhat intentional? The premise that these characters are facing an increasingly hopeless situation, and are making decisions under extraordinary duress as loved ones die, the healthy fall ill, and the ill show no regard for life.I enjoyed this movie, even if it doesn’t get a fairy tale ending.

    airborne adventure
Just when you think things couldn’t get any worse, the passengers realize they’re not just dodging turbulence – they’ve got a virus-infected stowaway on board, turning the friendly skies into a full-blown battle for survival.

Don’t let the cover deceive you. This is not a zombie movie. It’s an intelligent contagion thriller that explores the lengths people through to survive. The plot is a tad slow in places but feels believable and well though out. The acting is superb with stand out performances from Joe Dixon and Karen Bryson.I think this film is special because it feels real. Real is scary in our world of antibiotic resistance! The style, dialogue, acting and of course writing all add to this and help create a mature and thoughtful piece.

The world is in the grip of a plague which has spread uncontrollably and this has caused society to break down. A group of survivors manages to fly out of England but it quickly becomes obvious that they are transporting people who have been infected….This film sounds great – I really like these types of films where people are trapped in close quarters with the threat of death hanging over them. And it all started off reasonably well with a decent introduction of the characters and the rapid discovery of the plague on board. But after about 20 minutes the story stalled and we just got a lot of people talking and walking about the plane. And the biggest issue then became the plague virus which apparently doesn’t kill or change the victim’s personality – it just quickly disfigures their features. While not pleasant, this didn’t explain how the whole world had degenerated completely. There is some interaction with another plane which is just a distraction and then the filmmakers move on and concoct an ending which leaves a lot of things up in the air.The pace of this film was badly managed – from a good start it quickly slows and limps along to the end. And it’s far too long at an hour and a half. Really a big disappointment. For a much better experience, try ‘Flight of the Living Dead’ instead which was great fun.

Interesting captivating film, brilliant twist at the end. Good insight into human behaviour and the extreme’s people will go to both good and bad to survive.

This surely has to be one of the worst films ever made. Hammy acting and special effects that time forgot conspire to make this truly an underwhelming experience. Ninety minutes I’ll never get back.
