Great training treat.
Whatâs not to love about these? If my dogs could speak, theyâd tell me just how much they love these.Pros:1. Theyâre the perfect size for both of my dogs. Iâve got a Shih Tzu and I tear them apart in 1/2 for her(she doesnât chew her food). Iâve also got a Golden Retriever/Cattle dog x and I give him a whole one(he does chew his food.)2. Theyâre soft enough that I can tear them in 1/2 and she doesnât know the difference.3. Theyâre not hard at all making them easy to split in 1/2.4. Theyâre definitely at a great price point for the amount you get. Especially if you tear them in half.5. Theyâre last a long time without drying out. I put mine in a container with a lid. They seem to last a lot longer than leaving them in the bag.6. Theyâre the perfect treat or training treat, or you may use them however youâd like to given the fact theyâre soft enough to tear in 1/2 or leave whole.7. Given all of the above, theyâre functional all the way around.Cons: The only con Iâve got is, I wish they were a little bigger.

These treats are one of my dog’s favorites. They are perfect for training and can be torn into smaller pieces. They are also healthy and soft enough for a quick treat.

Perfect Training Treats for Puppies

A healthy treat!
I love this product, BUT be careful giving it to very small breed puppies, like is chihuahuas or pomeranians. They are soft, but hard to break down and digest. Otherwise it appears to be a healthy treat.

Perfect for training
Cooper my dachshund loves these!! They are a good size, but since cooper is so small I can even cut them up and they will still be perfect. They are soft I can just use my fingers to split them. Cooper also loves the taste!

Picky pup approved!
My picky Pomeranian puppy loved these!! It was one of the only treats he would eat. I liked the quality of these and I liked that it was soft since he was just getting his adult teeth.Now he is over a year old so we no longer get this exact treat but I love the brand and I love the cost!

Not suitable for dogs without teeth
My dog loved the flavor but these really are not for dogs without teeth as suggested. The squares are not soft but more like the consistency of foam rubber. I had to cut the squares into 4 pieces so my dog wouldnât choke on them. They were also pricey.

In puppy training there are 4 grades of treats.1. RECALL – The very best treat reward … because a recall *must* work to save a nasty incident so tends to be fresh chicken or ham or cheese2. Training – When you want to reward new and good behaviour in the early days3. Standard treats that are there for normal trained behaviours like checking in or mat training4. Low value … dog will often turn his nose up.These fall between the 2-3 level. Puppy likes them and will work for them but soon becomes bored

My australian shepherd found these difficult to chew– and he has a strong bite. This made them impossible to use during training because he would choke on them as he tried to complete an exercise.

When I cut these up, hard translucent shards of what look likeâ¦.glass/ seashells/ bones fall out. Has anyone received a response from Wellness about what these are? Is it safe for my puppy to consume?

My puppy cannot get enough of these…he goes nuts for them. I started buying Wellness food on the recommendation of my vet and several other people as he was really little when we got him – ‘the runt’ of the litter – and now he is thriving so I figured we would stick to the brand with the treats.I am wondering if this company puts something in these as my ordinarily sweet and snuggly little toy Australian Shepherd completely loses it when he sees the package or we even go near the area the treats are kept. He actually got the treats and took them into his bed and it was an ordeal trying to get them away from him – see attached picture.These are excellent training treats. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Five stars.In addition I did research on this brand (I have a coworker who had a pet die due to contaminated/recalled pet food and this is a concern for me) and wellness has an excellent track record. These treats have never been recalled so far as I have been able to see.
