How Did We Get Our Start?
Back in the mid-1990s, our founder Bill Whyte worked as a carpenter. He worked hard, and so did his hands. They would often split and crack in the frigid New England winters. One night, seeking a soothing solution, he mixed up some beeswax and olive oil to create a simple herbal balm. It helped his hands so much, he decided to share it with everyone he knew – and the rest, as they say, is Badger history.

Lovely texture. Leaves a shiny, greasy finish. Works under makeup but needs to be set with powder!
This sunscreen is rated excellent on Yuka. Itâs a thick cream that absorbs really well into my skin and leaves no white cast. With that being said it does leave a greasy finish. It works decently under makeup and doesnât flake off but I have to use a lot of translucent powder to set it and then apply my concealer and blush. If you use minimal makeup then this will work ok but you NEED powder in my opinion.It is non-irritating and doesnât have a scent. Iâm happy with it overall.

Best Sunscreen
Itâs my first time using this brand of spf and I really like it. I have really dry face skin, but the face spf doesnât make my skin too dry even with it being matte. It goes on really nice and leaves a thin layer with little to no smell. The body spf does leave a little shine to your skin but itâs not oily like most. I was also pleasantly surprised with the bottle sizes. Plus the non toxic ingredients put the cherry on top. Will be repurchasing.

Can be worn with some makeup. Just not all.
Firstly, this is the first sunscreen I can use on my face. It actually helps my skin, and has not caused me to break out. Please be hesitant however, some people can be sensitive to coconut oil. But most aren’t. Secondly to that yes its oily, but a little goes a long way. Can be worn under makeup but here’s the catch… not perfect under all makeup. For one let it sink into the skin for a good 7-10 min before you apply. Works very well with powder foundations and concealer. I have yet to try liquid foundation because I just don’t think that will work out. Also people complaining about how this wears under makeup is wild to me, it’s sunscreen. It’s meant to protect your skin. If that’s truly what you care about just go without the makeup. If you use it daily, just find what products work with it and what don’t. But this is completely clean ingredient wise so doesn’t matter to me much! Hard to come by clean sunscreens like this.

I have combination-dry, sensitive skin. Chemical sunscreens irritate my skin, cause stinging in my eyes and an odd taste in my mouth. I also cannot use anything scented for similar reasons.Many physical sunscreens are either too heavy, or leave a white cast, and sunscreen formulated specifically for the face tend to be geared toward oily skin. Their âmatteâ or ânon-greasyâ formulas dry me out and pile under makeup. This one is different.Badgerâs Mineral Daily Sunscreen is deeply moisturizing, absorbs beautifully, and has zero white cast once rubbed in. Itâs not greasy, but itâs also not mattifying. Itâs consistency and feel are like a high quality facial moisturizer, which is exactly what I need. I use it on my face daily, often under makeup, and it looks great. No piling, no irritation, no stinging eyes.Itâs technically not labeled as a face sunscreen, but I find it works better than most that are. Plus, the 4 oz tube is generous and makes it easy to use on the body too.Iâve tried nearly every physical sunscreen out there, and this one is a rare find: unscented, reef-safe, certified organic, and full of safe, skin-loving ingredients. I seriously hope they never change the formula, I donât want to go through the search all over again.

It took me a long time to pick this out. Something with good ingredients but doesnât cost too much. Iâm so glad I found this. It is smooth to put on and not greasy or heavy. It covers well and does well in the water.

Goes on clean for excellent sun protection
This is our favorite sunscreenâgoes on clean with very little white (zinc) residue and works as it claims to work. Our entire family, from 10 to 50 years old, all uses it from face to toe. Excellent product.

Works well, safer ingredients, smells weird
Iâve been on a journey to switch my home and body products to more natural ones with less toxic ingredients. I am pretty meticulous about wearing sunscreen on my face and neck so I gave this product a try. I do like it, it takes a little longer to rub into the skin fully and it is a little greasy but once it absorbs then it leaves my skin feeling velvety and soft. My only dislike is that it smells weird, like mud/clay which makes sense because itâs mineral sunscreen. The smell doesnât last too long though. I recommend trying it if you are looking for a sunscreen with safer ingredients!
